"Came home to rain in our kitchen so I called One Call Roofing and Chris was extremely responsive and helpful.  After he looked at it, he worked with me to schedule a time for repair that would accommodate me and my family.  The repair was done professionally and there wasn't any "selling" of additional products or services.  Robert and Rocky did an excellent job repairing the leak, including interacting with my children who thought the leaves falling off the roof were the highlight of their day.  I would definitely recommend One Call Roofing to anyone and wouldn't hesitate to call them again in the future.

"They did a very good job with the roof and the addition that came off the house and covered the deck. The only reason I gave them a B rating for quality instead of an A has to do with the finishing touches on the addition. All around the house the soffit fascia is covered in white sheet metal. When they finished the addition, which follows the roof line of the back of the house. They left it with bare, untreated wood. They don't use treated lumber because it reacts with the metal roofing and some corrosion may result. That's fine, but they should have at least covered it so that it tied in with the rest of the roof line. As we did our final inspection, I asked about the wood being treated and he explained why they don't use it. I said " so I guess I'll have to cover it?" He said that I would. I was leaving town on business in a couple days and had a lot going on, so I guess I just didn't think to put my foot down and insist they do it. Here in Mobile, Alabama we are the wettest city in the nation. We get more annual rainfall than Seattle, and it's humid. Wood rot happens.I went and bought some Thompson's Water Seal, and some sheet metal and took care of it myself. I have some pictures, but I don't see how to post them on this review page. The workers were very polite and cleaned up very well each day.

"First time scheduled; he canceled last minute due to car trouble. Second time scheduled: called me 4 hours ahead of scheduled time and said he was 2 minutes from my place. I wasn't home so, we rescheduled. Third time scheduled: showed up on time and accommodated my request to do a later time. I sent him the manual for assembly and, he said it was an easy job, probably 1 hour; it took 2.5 hours. I told him the entrance to my parking garage only will accommodate 6'3" trucks and he said not a problem, he'd drive his wife's car; he showed up with his truck and then made me pay him the $10.00 for parking on top of my very generous payment of $150.00 for 2.5 hours of work (which should have only taken 1 hour according to his quote). I spent time with him going over several other projects I needed done and we scheduled him to come back the following Saturday. He later texted wasn't sure he could make it but would let me know the next morning. I never heard from him and had to text 3x to get an answer. He didn't respond until 5 pm and said he could come, but it would be later in the day. I asked what timeframe, he responded "idk". I followed up, again, asking if he could come a day the following week instead and, he never responded. I didn't bother to follow up again; it shouldn't be so hard to hire someone to do a job with more follow up on my end, than the person getting paid."

"I CONTACTED FREDRICK KLEIN, THE OWNER OF KLEIN AND SONS CONSTRUCTION- THROUGH A REFERRAL.  A FRIEND OF THE FAMILY RECOMMENDED HIM.  I TOLD MR. KLEIN, THAT I HAD WANTED TO REPLACE WINDOWS IN MY 90+ YEAR OLD HOME- FOR MANY YEARS, AND HAD FINALLY DECIDED WHAT TYPE OF WINDOW I WANTED.  I ASKED HIM TO COME OUT, AND TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT IT WOULD ENTAIL.
THE HOME HAD HAD PREVIOUS WATER DAMAGE ISSUES, AND I THOUGHT THAT SOME OF THE REASON FOR THAT- WAS THE BADLY DETERIORATED CONDITION OF THE EXISTING WOODEN WINDOWS.   MR. KLEIN CAME OUT, INSPECTED EACH ROOM, AND AGREED.  HE WAS EASY GOING.  WHEN ASKED QUESTIONS (AND I ASKED A LOT OF QUESTIONS), HE WAS TO THE POINT WITH EVERY ANSWER.  HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND RESPECTFUL.
I HAD TALKED TO SEVERAL COMPANIES, PRIOR TO SPEAKING WITH MR. KLEIN- AND HAD GOTTEN ROUGH ESTIMATES FOR THIS WINDOW REPLACEMENT JOB.  I WAS REPLACING 20+ WINDOWS- AND EACH COMPANY THAT I SPOKE WITH- GAVE VERY HIGH ESTIMATES FOR BOTH THE WINDOWS AND THE LABOR COSTS.  KLEIN AND SONS CONSTRUCTION DID NOT. 
MR. KLEIN BROKE DOWN THE COST OF MATERIALS, LABOR AND NOTED OTHER ISSUES THAT WE MAY HAVE TO DEAL WITH, IN HIS BID FOR SERVICE.  THE AMOUNT HE LISTED, FOR THE COST OF THE WINDOWS (LOW E- ARGON GAS FILLED) WAS VERY COMPETITIVE.  HIS LABOR COSTS WERE MUCH MORE AFFORDABLE THAN HIS COMPETITION.  BECAUSE OF HIS 'NO NONSENSE' DEMEANOR- AND HIS MANY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, I IMMEDIATELY HIRED HIM!
I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED.  HIS CREW WAS DILIGENT IN GETTING THE JOB DONE.  THEY KNEW WHAT TO DO- AND DID THEIR JOB WELL.  EVERYONE THAT I CAME INTO CONTACT WITH- WAS RESPECTFUL AND HARD WORKING. 
THE ONLY ISSUES THAT IMPACTED THIS JOB NEGATIVELY- WERE NOT THE FAULT OF KLEIN AND SONS CONSTRUCTION.
 THERE WAS SPORATIC  RAIN, THROUGHOUT THE JOB- THAT DELAYED THE INSTALLATION OF A FEW WINDOWS.  THAT WAS TO BE EXPECTED, BECAUSE WE ARE IN AN AREA THAT REGULARLY DEALS WITH THAT ISSUE. 
THE OTHER ISSUE, INVOLVED THE WINDOW DISTRIBUTOR, THAT THIS COMPANY WAS USING.  THE WINDOW COMPANY, TWICE, SHIPPED THE WRONG SIZED WINDOWS.  MR. KLEIN DEALT WITH THE PROBLEM PROFESSIONALLY- AND SWIFTLY.  HE APOLOGIZED MANY TIMES FOR THE INCONVENIENCE AND DELAY THAT THIS CAUSED.  THE JOB ACTUALLY TOOK VERY LITTLE TIME, I FELT- SO THIS WAS NEVER AN ISSUE FOR ME. 
I RESPECTED THE FACT THAT HE TOOK FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISSUE- EVEN THOUGH WE BOTH KNEW IT WAS NOT HIS FAULT.  (NOTE:  HE NOW USES A DIFFERENT WINDOW DISTRIBUTOR).
ON A SPECIAL NOTE-  ONE OF THE WINDOWS THAT I HAD REPLACED, NEEDED SPECIAL FRAMING DONE, ON THE INSIDE OF THE HOME.  HIS SON DID THE HANDY WORK- AND IT LOOKED INCREDIBLE.  I WAS VERY PLEASED!
I EXPECT, IN THE NEAR FUTURE, I WILL BE HIRING KLEIN AND SONS CONSTRUCTION, TO DO OTHER WORK WITHIN MY HOME.  BECAUSE- WHEN YOU FIND A CONTRACTOR THAT DOES WHAT IT SAYS-  HAS THIS DEGREE OF PROFESSIONALISM- AND GIVE AN HONEST PRICE....YOU STICK WITH THEM!!"

"In August 2012 this company installed four supports in the crawl space of a 100 year old home. This was necessary to replace support lost when the fireplaces were removed. We had them come back this year, May 2013, to install steel posts on the first floor directly above the previously installed supports. The steel posts carried the additional support upward and fixed the support of a header that was previously installed incorrectly by someone else. Besides fixing the supports for the header, they also repositioned it and beefed it up. This company works with you to come up with the best solution without going overboard. They don't try to oversell you, listen to what the homeowner wants, and work within your budget. This home has been gutted and is a work in progress. They are willing to break things down into smaller tasks and work with you. Ken Pohlman, the salesman and estimator for our area is great to work with. We will definitely be having them do more work as our budget allows. We have worked with two different crews and both were excellent. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and experienced. We didn't realize we could request a crew but will do so in the future. I don't remember the names of the first crew but this crew was Steve Johnson and Matt Pierce. We will request them next time.
