"Little Dave came out today and diagnosed and replaced my exterior electrical wiring. If it had not been replaced could have been very dangerous for me in the future. Just knowing that he could fix the problem made me feel safer in my home meant the world to me. He had been out to my house before and fixed some wiring issues in the past also. Dave and his associates have been very professional and courteous. I will call them again if ever I need an electrician. I recommend their services highly. A+"

"Jason and Matt did a great job completing the work we contracted them for. One thing that I was very pleased with was their honest feedback regarding the work we were requesting. We initially thought that we would need to replace the entire electrical panel, but Jason inspected the panel when he came out to to provide the estimate and advised the panel did not need to be replaced although he did provide some suggestions based on his inspection of the panel. When everything was said and done, they added several outlets, moved a ceiling box for a light fixture, de-cluttered several outlets next to the panel, and added a transfer box and lock for our generator. We are pleased with their work and hope to have them back out later this year to replace the weather-head and exterior electrical box."

"John and Ryan came on time to check the electrical connection on our Jenn-Air cooktop. They checked the main box and the electrical box by the cooktop. They diagnosed the issue quickly and fixed the connections with the correct kind of wire connectors. While here they also updated an electrical switch. They did all of this within the original estimate S&S provided over the phone. Thanks!"

Customers say: Quality work

"Eric and his team are amazing. I work in customer service, so I know fantastic customer service when I receive it. They are very prompt in returning phone calls/answering messages. I had extensive electrical work that had to be done and they made sure to keep me informed of what was happening and what was going to happen next the entire time. I would hire Eric and his team again in a heartbeat!"

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Attleboro, MA

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
