"We went with A2Z Builders and love the work they did on our master bath and laundry room. We had challenges with our older home and they worked to ensure the job was completed and beautiful. Matthew was our project manager and he was always available and helped us with our questions and working through the issues that come with remodeling an older home. Definitely recommend them for home remodeling."

"Westec Builders did such a great job with adding an entertainment room to my house! We had wanted a bar and hang out area and wasnâ t really sure where to start. Robert and Jeff met with me and helped me design what worked best to add to our house. They were always on time and professional and really knew how to help with every question I had. With covid, there were unfortunately delays, and they handled it all perfectly and kept in communication with me the whole time. My bar and room addition came out so beautifully, I will be using them for any future projects I have."

"Mathew and everyone he brought to our project were efficient, professional and got the job done to the high-quality standards they said they would! More importantly, Mathew was exceedingly diligent about walking through options and potential downsides for each. He made us feel we knew exactly what to expect at every step of the way, which, as first time home owners, made my wife and I very comfortable in what could be a stressful process. Thanks Mathew and everyone at ES Home improvement! I cannot recommend them highly enough."

"They did an outstanding job. I plan on hiring them again in a few weeks to studding out the other half of my basement, along with doing the drywall work after I put in the electrical and plumbing."

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
