"Anyone with a slate or tile roof needing repairs should consider using Roberts Roofing. A tree crashed through my 70 year old slate roof. There was damage to half the front side of the house roof. The roof is very different from most slate roofs. While most slate roofs use the same color, width and thickness tile, my roof used random width, color and thickness tile. Matching their work to the old roof was a challenging job. The Roberts team ( 11 craftsmen ) removed slightly more than half the roof. They mixed in approximately 2,000 reclaimed tiles from their vast inventory with the tiles they harvested from my roof. The result.... excellent. The pattern match.... flawless. He and his crew put in more than a full days work staying late to finish the job. His price was very fair and I would definitely hire him again. Of note, he also knows his limitations and did not attempt to work on a larger flat roof and gave me some recommendations for someone to call for that. My initial call was returned within the first few hours and the painting estimate was provided in writing within two days.  Incredibly professional. However, the painting bid was $20,000 for exterior painting and minor wood repair only -- back to the same colors.  I had several other bids and the highest of those was $10,000 less than the Ultimate Custom bid.  The work may be high quality but there is no way it could be twice as good as the second high bidder (who is also highly rated here on Angie's list).  Needless to say, we went with someone else.  I would recommend getting several bids before using these guys.
