"This regards a huge repair job after a pipe burst in our rental condo. It did happen a couple of years ago (December 2014) but it remains in my memory as a truly positive experience. The water destroyed the drywall in several rooms. We contacted Gary through Home Asvisor Handyman for the repairs. He contacted us soon after. When he arrived little did he know we actually had several projects that we needed done so we could sell the condo. Gary listened to our needs and then organized how the projects would be completed. The projects included the drywall repair for the living room, dining room, repair of the pipe that burst, added an access door to the plumbing area where the busted pipe occurred, installed tile flooring in the kitchen, replaced all the cabinets in the kitchen, installed a new kitchen light fixture, organized the replacement of the counter tops, reorganized the kitchen plan so the refrigerator and stove were not side by side, installed a new kitchen faucet and fixed the faucet after a couple of weeks when the interior piece was found to be defective, remodeled th entire bathroom tiling on the floor and walls, installed a new tub and fixtures, replaced the entry door and screen door, replaced all the interior doors, painted the entire place, fixed a longstanding problem for two side by side 8 foot windows by removing them and repairing the woodwork as well as refininshing the walls afterwards (in the middle of winter!--impressive). He helped us make decisions and worked with whatever selections we made in such a timely manner. He was in contact with us throughout the projects and provided us all the receipts, estimates, and final costs for each project that he undertook. He even would send picures as the projects progressed or were completed. He was so easy to work with and we appreciated him and hos work immensely! "Artistic Construction (AC) completed two relatively small bathroom remodels. In one bathroom, the shower door was replaced with a frameless Euro-Style glass door. The shower door opening was not perfectly square, but AC was able to get the right custom measurements so that the door would fit. The door looks great! In another bathroom, AC replaced a shallow bath tub with a deeper soaking tub. They were able to match the existing ceramic tile and replaced all the plumbing and electrical fixtures. The bathroom looks brand new!"

"We paid for an analysis. When the techs arrived, we were told that our basement POSSIBLY had asbestos tiling, and therefore they were unable to use the power analysis machine, or whatever it's called. They sealed a few windows, but doors still have drafts. The price we paid, in advance, was supposed to include that machine..so we feel a bit cheated since nothing was mentioned about that machine not being used."

"Nosh is a true craftsman and an outstanding professional.  He provided a clear quote and stuck to it despite some unforeseen additional expenses.  His craftsmanship and professionalism is second to none.  He and his crew arrived each morning, worked hard, and cleaned up every day.  When more of the old stone was damaged than expected, he made MANY calls around to warehouses and was able to find an exact match to our 9 year old stone!!!  It's not just a match, even...it's the same stone.  It had be sitting in the warehouse for 9 years.  He bought what he needed for the job, advised us to get more for future repairs, and delivered it to our home.  I think we bought everything the warehouse had.  We'll never be able to find that stone again (as many masons have told us previously), but now we won't need to.  Most other contractors just don't put forth that extra effort to do the job right and make the customer happy.
When discussing other potential projects and details, he is very cost conscious while still having an eye on aesthetics.  He even came back after his work was complete to meet with carpenters to provide guidance on working around the remaining poorly installed stone.  We some of the caulking around the base of our backsplash had tiny holes after drying, he came back and fixed them.  We will definitely have Nosh back to repair more of the stone and do other masonry and tiling work.
Nosh has a bit of an accent, but it's really nothing...just a little extra patience when communicating over the phone.  With his skills and experience, this is the expert you want to do your masonry work!  Finding a true and honest craftsman like Nosh is 1 in 10,000 at least.

"I had tried to get the contractor who recently roofed our home to come out and do the repair since we were still under warranty. After several phone calls to them and no attempts to address the issue, I checked Angie's list and called Hammer Time. They came out the same day to access the problem, determined what needed to be done and came out the next day to do the repair work. They had to install flashing, sheath the plywood on the chimney and install the vinyl siding in the chimney. We have had a couple heavy downpours since the repair with no leakage. We are very pleased with their prompt response and good work."
