"It went well enough. Not fully satisfied with all plants or groundcover choices but went with both; my fault. Absolutely no follow-up, excuses of too busy, will stop by later; never happened. Have texted them but not alot; don't want to be a nag. Guarantee follow-up with replacements and/or removal, etc., for a year from $initialization. This has not happened. "Wes and his crew have worked with us before (May 2016 - see prior review ) so our expectations were high based on the prior high-quality experience. They exceeded our high expectations in terms of quality and time to get the job done. His description of his company states 'we build your dreams' and this could not be more accurate. We thought about this space for quite some time and had very specific requests about building materials (we wanted Ipe hardwood and particular stones and particular lights and a particular avocado tree!). He took our poorly drawn sketch and turned it into our dream side yard. Turned out as we expected only the color of the wood really pops and looks amazing against the rock. As with the last job, he pays attention to all of the unseen structural details - the stepping stones are all cemented in and level, the planters - while appearing to be above ground - are all anchored and level. This team really does pay attention to detail and doesn't just throw things together. I have to say - I did not even bother getting a competing bid because our prior experience with Wes was so great and we are so happy with the quality of the work. We'll have him out one more time for a final project we have planned in a year or two - have to dream it up! I told Wes he is always welcome to use our yard as a 'reference' - it is a dream come true space."

"We contacted Gwyny last spring after reading other positive reviews of Bottoms Up on Angie?s List. We had a litany of small- to medium-size projects we wanted to address, but we were overwhelmed at the thought of tackling them all ourselves. We have a small house on a large corner lot, so there is a lot of yard to contend with, and it seemed like her company would be a good fit with the work we were looking to do.

She stopped by a couple days after our initial phone call to walk through the yard and discuss the work: removing turf and replacing with mulch; removing weeds and certain plants in planters and replacing with succulents; installing landscape lighting, etc. She emailed us a quote within 24-hours of our meeting. We immediately felt comfortable with her and were pleased with the quote we received, so we moved forward with scheduling the work.

Gwyny is so knowledgeable, and she has really great ideas about how to create a beautiful and useful landscape. We had a general idea of what we wanted, but she was able to guide us in the right direction through the whole process. For example, we have a large planter surrounding a very large tree in our backyard that was just wasted space. Gwyny suggested turning it into a sandbox, and our two little ones have played in it almost every day since we did so.

Also, since we were having quite a bit of turf removed and replaced with drought-resistant landscaping, she steered us toward Pasadena?s Turf Removal Program. We received a rebate of $1,600, which helped offset the cost of the landscaping.

Working with Gwyny was a wonderful personal experience. She answers the phone AND does the work with her amazing crew of guys. If my wife and I had attempted to do all this work ourselves (in the spare 5-minutes we get each week in between raising our two toddlers), it would have taken us a year or more to do what Gwyny and her guys did in two days. And it may have ended in our divorce. Just kidding. But not really.

We couldn?t be happier with the service we received as well as the end result. Our neighbors and friends have all commented on the beauty of our yard. We receive so much more enjoyment out of it, and the best part is that it requires much less ongoing maintenance than it did before.

We have already recommended Gwyny and her crew to another friend of ours, and we will happily recommend her to any and all that ask!
