"Everybody’s I dealt with was great - from the salesman to all 4 guys doing the work. They put in a drain tile system, with a sump pit and sump pump. We’re happy with the results so far."

"Called Weds morning and David and Kori were there by noon. They hydro jetted the corrugated drainage pipe from the source to the end and then backwards again to remove the obstruction. Free flow of water was quickly restored. They also jetted a second line from the drain site backwards and the return of that one was clear water as well. Cannot recommend this company highly enough. Promptness of service, very professional work ethic with great success, and very reasonable cost. Better yet they let this old Do it yourselfer watch and answered all my questions about what was going on. Anyone who needs sewer or other drain lines cleaned or worked on should call Econo Sewer and Drain."

"The overall install went well except for a small flaw. The small hole drilled in the PVC pipe splashes wtr out of the sump when pmp is activated. I now have to try to cover a portion of the sump to eliminate the issue."

"

I initially had a poor interaction with Mike that did not result in solving the above plumbing problem above. However, he has since connected with me and resolved the issue fairly.  He did an excellent job the first time I hired him (successfully unclogging a tub drain). Even though the second time we hired him was not successful (and we had to hire a second plumber to resolve the problem) we will use him in the future because he reached out to resolve our concerns in a professional manner.

"This was a perfect repair experience. We recently bought a home that had two "floating decks"---no concrete footings and not attached to the house. The decks were sloping toward the foundation of the house and posing a potential seepage problem. On the smaller deck, Brian and his hard-working crew installed six 42" deep concrete piers and leveled the deck. He also installed two sturdier headers, eight new deck boards and a new step. The crew was professional, friendly, highly skilled, and cleaned up the work area at the end of each work day. Brian's communication with us was excellent. He almost always answered his phone before it went to voice mail, or he returned calls quickly. He is extremely knowledgeable and skilled in a number of home repair areas. We are already talking with him about repairing or replacing the other deck next spring. We highly recommend TNT Builders!

"We only needed granite countertops, since our existing cabinetry is very new and the kitchen layout is functional. We didn't want to pay a huge markup at a kitchen design center, so we decided to work directly with a fabricator. Jerry (the owner) was very flexible in scheduling a time to come to our house. He came to take initial measurements and offered many good ideas to improve upon what we wanted to do (e.g. installing a small cabinet alongside our range to create a more symmetrical look, ideas for a backsplash, etc.). We then visited Jerry's office/workshop to view the slabs he had in stock and see the sink options (he included a fairly nice stainless steel sink with our installation). We wanted to see more options, so he directed us to Global Marble and Granite in Addison. We also checked out another granite warehouse he recommended, but we ended up getting our slab from Global. Jerry came back for final measurements and to confirm all the pricing. In addition to the free sink, he ended up discounting our ogee edge and doing the cutout for our bathroom sink (from leftover slab) for no additional charge. And when they came to do the installation (about a week after we chose our slab), they surprised us with a granite cutting board. We were extremely pleased with the fast, quality installation. When I realized we forgot to have a hole drilled for our filtered water faucet (completely our oversight, not theirs), they came back the next morning and took care of it for no charge. We were extremely satisfied with the results. Some fabricators do just that, fabricate and install. Jerry gave us some valuable design ideas and was very responsive/engaging. And his pricing was very competitive and reasonable, with lots of added value along the way."

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Bassett, WI

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
