"A regular furnace and air conditioning maintenance check on Wednesday, January 13 revealed that the heat exchanger was failing on our 17-year-old furnace.  There were other problems as well.  The condition was unsafe and we decided to replace the furnace and the air conditioning unit which had been installed at the same time, to take advantage of financial incentives and improved efficiency.  We've dealt with Homer Nine for many years, and they were willing to install the furnace immediately, on an emergency basis.  The day after the furnace check, January 14, they customized the sheet metal ductwork and installed a new furnace.  They came back the following Monday, January 18, they returned and installed a new air conditioning unit.  On every occasion, they were punctual and courteous, and described what they were doing.  They cleaned up completely.  This is why we've dealt with them exclusively for many years - a very professional company which treats its customers very well.

"Super responsive. Called on Thursday came out that afternoon to quote the job. Set a crew out Monday to do the work. Did a great job installing a new gas tankless system to replace an existing electric tank. And their quote was Way less than the the other big name water heater guy. They were right on time and I got text updates as to there location to arriving, appointment reminders etc. They said it would be a 1/2 day job and they were pulling out of my driveway at noon sharp. Even took the old water heater. Please note this was not an emergency service call, we were just upgrading to a gas tankless system for improved performance and lower operating cost."

"I would absolutely hire Ethan again. We had high water bills...he responded to my text request quickly. First ..he came when at the day n scheduled time! He was respectful of property, very polite. Second he assessed needs n estimated costs. Third. Sent text with estimate details..leaving us to make our own decision. Fourth. Completed work on the day he scheduled. Very clean, efficient. He changed out commodes/ fixed commode parts/ fixed be bathtub stop/ new kitchen faucet/installed a dishwasher. He is extremely reasonably priced n accommodating. "Lloyd Calhoun works 8 days a week at the hours that work for you. He takes pride in his craft, delivering a high level of competence and excellent customer service at very competitive rates. I called him once, I’ll call him again, and I highly recommend him to you. The water heater died around 4 pm on a freezing January afternoon. Of course, I turned to Angie’s List where I found Calhoun Plumbing & Heating, which is in my zip code. Upon calling the number listed, I got voice mail, left a message, and Lloyd Calhoun returned the call in less than 30 minutes. It was already late in the business day and, if Lloyd had offered me a next day appointment, I would have been thrilled. But Lloyd came over that evening, after finishing his scheduled clients, to give me a FREE estimate. He answered all my questions to my satisfaction and I had a lot of them. The old water heater was paid for by the previous owner’s appliance insurance when I purchased the house. Being a naïve, first-time home owner, I hadn’t a clue what to look for in a water heater and was at the mercy of the plumbing company contracted by the previous owner’s policy. The company unnecessarily installed a power-vent water heater (which costs roughly $200-$300 more per unit than a direct vent model) in spite of the fact that the original water heater was located adjacent to a chimney, and there already existed a hole in the chimney to accommodate the vent pipe. Lloyd actually listened to me (!), confirmed my suspicions that the more expensive, power-vent model was NOT necessary, and gave me good information on features and pricing for direct vent models. Right there, Lloyd saved me $300. I’d been researching water heaters for months, had at least 3 plumbers out to the house for an estimate, and Lloyd Calhoun was the only plumber who was honest enough to sell me the less expensive, direct-vent water heater. The next evening Lloyd was back with a nice Rheem unit that fit the specs. Installation went off without a hitch. They carried the old unit out to the curb. (It was gone before the garbage truck made rounds the next morning.) The basement work area was swept and tidy when they left. What more can you ask for?"
