Including taking down a large tree in my front yard, adding new bathroom window trim, installing recessed kitchen lighting, plumbing water to the refrigerator, and a complete over-haul to turn my standard garage into a fun extended living space. Garage included insulation and drywalling the attic area and the walls, and a new concrete floor. The only thing Scott didn't do was replace the garage doors. But he advised and talked with the installers I hired for that work. Scott was great at going through each project, asking and listening to what I wanted, and then describing what each project would entail and the plan to complete each one. Darkstar Construction is an incredible company and Scott is very easy going and a delight to work with! I highly recommend them to anyone needing literally anything done around their home or yard!"

"Lifetime Windows & Doors were great. We started thinking about replacing our aging aluminum frame windows a few years ago. We got visited by a door-to-door replacement window company and got a good quote. However, the windows were very “chunky” compared to our sleek aluminum windows. So we got a quote from the big replacement window company and got sticker shock. We then found that Milgard had replacement vinyl windows that we could get in black capstone (both internal and external color), but the replacement company never got back to us with a quote – even after many back and forth communications. We then found Lifetime Windows and Doors. Morgan and Lindsay were head and shoulders above all other vendors we worked with regarding communication. When we found out that Milgard was delayed with the black windows we wanted, they found that Simonton had a similar window and got us in their queue. Yes, it took a while to get windows, but Tony and Hugo did a great job, installing all 17 windows. We’re super happy with Lifetime Windows and Doors."

"I chose Charles after meeting with several well-rated contractors.  He was very knowledgeable and fairly priced.  His judgement and advice was thoughtful and prudent.  We had just purchased a condo and were leaving town in a week.  We needed a total kitchen and 2 total bath renovations.  Charles was aware of our timetable and met with us in 48 hours and took us to many suppliers to choose EVERYTHING.  Plumbing, quartz, toilets, appliances, cabinets, hardware, tile.  He took meticulous notes regarding stock numbers and colors.  More importantly we didn't feel rushed or under pressure to make a decision.  If we didn't see an item we liked he would happily take us to another vendor.  Many times it was Charles that would say that the item in question didn't work well for our needs and that we should continue to shop for a better option.  

After a day and a half we had chosen everything and left town for 6 months.  Our condo association has many rules regarding padding the elevator, protecting hallway carpet, noise, .... I never received one complaint.  Charles put down protective layers over our wood floors and carpet.  He regularly sent photos of his progress.  There were some issues to be addressed and changed during the build out, he called me and we discussed and resolved them.  He has very good judgement and will not complete a job just to get it done and move on to the next project.  He takes pride in his work and completed our job like it was his own.  We just returned to Portland and the renovation was perfect.  The workmanship was excellent.  He used very good subs.  Every drawer opened and closed as it should, all appliances worked well, the tile work was great.... After I paid Charles his final installment, he even came back to hang a couple of extra towel bars in the bath for us.

This was the best experience with a contractor that anyone could hope for.  Honest, fair, talented, and conscientious.  If there was a grade above an "A" he deserves it.  "
