"George and his crew installed concrete pads for our swim spa and hot tub...they did an excellent job...George perfectly timed the pouring of concrete between rain storms...couldn't be happier with the job...already planning to use them again on a flag stone walkway...very reasonable pricing...great communication...highly recommend them"

"We are beyond happy with our new patio. The stamped concrete is beautiful and the colors and staining are spot on. We were a little unsure about what colors to use and G gave some valuable input. We also had a concrete slab poured for a sauna and some architectural blocks poured for a small patio off of sauna and they were completed to the exact specifications. His crew is professional and a pleasure to work with."

"TOA concrete performed exceptional work for me. Tasi was on the ball with everything involving the quote for my driveway removal to installing and finishing my driveway. I selected him after inquiring about his bid and then asking him to meet me at my house after his bid so that I could evaluate him personally and determine if he would do what I was expecting to receive for the price. After personally visiting with him for about a half hour I determined that he was reputable and would perform the work that I expected. I was not disappointed. The work performed was above my expectations and the price was very fair. If you have any questions about his work, drive by and look at my driveway and I'm sure you will be impressed."

"Was looking for a business to create a front walk at my home. Wanted some particular features in the concrete. Ben was open to all requests and went above and beyond to get a color chart for tge color I wanted. Ben is timely with communication throughout the job. His Nephew and himself created the concrete when promised and professionally. Would indeed consider Rockman with my next project. "

"My wife and I hired Forest Landscape to remove our old rotted pressure treated retaining wall by our Koi pond and replace with natural black basalt rock. They also removed our wood raised garden walls and replaced with paver stone with a top cap. They also removed our badly installed basalt rock pathway that was loose and lifting up. The rock pathway was installed only three years ago by Cornerstone Hardscapes. Forest Landscapes installed a stamped concrete pathway where the basalt rock pathway was removed Jose and Rigo Castaneda were very professional to work with and there crew were real craftsman with attention to detail. They showed up on time and worked even on Saturday to finish project on time. We will hire them again for any future projects."

"Dan did a thorough job cleaning up years of moss on my patio and entry steps. He moved lots of pots to clean and returned them where they belonged. He cleaned up the mess of moss completely assuring that adjacent plants were also cleansed. He also repaired a hazard on my concrete entry in a very attractive manner. All this for a very competitive price!"

"I purchased this home in Dec. I noticed there was water pooling on the patio, so asked for bids for mud Jacking. Toro construction responded and came out right away. Not even sure if they do mud jacking. They convinced me that I need to replace those sections of concrete and so I added a few other sections that were cracked etc. I paid them 2000 to start the project. They gave me a copy job estimate but never a contract. They were to start on Monday but I called them and texted, on the Thursday before, asking them to come back and requote the project, because when I moved all my plants etc. there was another cracked section. They did not respond to my messages. I finally left one that said do not have your men show up until we discuss the project. They didn’t show up on Monday, she finally texted saying she was in a meeting. They came and tore out part of the patio, that week but said they had other jobs scheduled and were at the mercy of the concrete company to schedule my project. They wanted to come and do some work on Saturday but I would not be home so I said Sunday, she agreed on Sunday. But they were a no show again, she decided that they should not work on Sunday. They did the pour the following week and I discussed with their worker that the two sections were not acceptable. One had a bad patch job and the other had a large divot where it still held water. Other areas had divots but this one you could see from looking at it. I paid him 2900 on the day they poured because he said he had to pay his workers. I told him what I wanted fixed and he agreed to come on Saturday and repair. I would think he could communicate this to the office manager who is his wife. This was another no show day. Then I get a text from their office manager: “Good afternoon. Your lack of response to my messages and emails as well as the past due balance has left me no other option but to pursue a lien on property. Please respond by end of day.” She had not even come out to look at the work completed to see the quality of work. I had discussed everything with the boss on the site and he agreed to fix it. She needed to come out and talk to me. I then texted her with pictures of the two areas, and my complaints and stated that if she put a lien on my property before looking at the project I would sue. She then got belligerent and said that I was abusive and yelling at the guys on the jobsite, which is not true, I just stated the facts to them. Instead of coming herself she sent the second in command worker who agreed it was bad, this was on the 9th of May. He said they would come on Monday. I texted on Monday after a no show, I texted her again, she said between 10-12, I texted again at 12, a no show. On the 15th I asked when it was scheduled, she said she would let me know. She said that I have continually threatened the workers and herself. Which is not true. I pointed out that she was the one that said she was going to put a lien on my property. She said this was a threatening comment to her. “She felt that my areas of concern don’t actually rise to the level of replacement.” Then in her next text she says “Yes project needs change” and noted that she was just informing me of lien potential. But that is not what she said. She noted in this text that the concrete needs to be sealed to achieve a more cohesive finish, that was not mentioned before. Only that I need to seal. They did provide the name of the sealer they use. She noted that they can’t guarantee the work that I perform. When they redid the 2 sections they look worse than they did the first time. It was like the concrete was too dry and it is crumbly around the edges, the corners are falling out etc. They left the concrete residue on my yard, they left the concrete residue in the track that is there to drain the water. I should not have to clean that up. He came back and looked at it when I was not at home, but his comment is that he is done and it needs to be sealed. I am not willing to seal it at this point. Once I do, the concrete is mine. It is a bad representation of what quality concrete should look like. When it rained the other day you could see the new sections were white compared to the rest of the patio. The rest of the new concrete he treated with an acid wash, the last repair he did not. Not sure if this is why it is white. I will attach photos to show the issue.."

FAQs for concrete finishing, overlays & coloring application projects in Beaverton, OR

With proper care, a stained concrete floor easily lasts 20 years or more. Reapply sealer every two to four years to protect against moisture, scratches, and daily wear. Routine sweeping, occasional damp mopping, and prompt repairs keep the surface looking sharp and protect the slab underneath, preserving both function and resale value.

Stained concrete can crack if the slab is exposed to extreme moisture changes, heavy impacts, or settling. Small hairline cracks are mainly cosmetic, but deeper fractures can affect the finish. Inspect the floor regularly, address moisture issues quickly, and hire a pro for timely repairs. Staying on top of maintenance prevents minor flaws from developing into larger, more costly problems.

The longevity of a concrete stain depends on the product you choose. Acid-based options chemically bond with the slab and are essentially permanent. Water-based stains sit on the surface and can be lightened, darkened, or covered with a new color at a later time. Select the stain type that aligns with your long-term design plans and your willingness to reapply the stain in the future.

You can update the color by cleaning the slab, lightly etching it, and applying a new layer of stain. Re-staining bonds to the concrete and resists peeling far better than paint. For a dramatic shift—such as moving from a dark acid stain to a lighter tone—you may need to grind the surface first. A flooring pro can advise on the best approach for your specific floor.

Stained concrete combines longevity with a modern, custom look. The finish resists heavy foot traffic, moisture, and everyday wear, so upkeep is minimal—routine sweeping and an occasional damp mop are usually enough. Because the color is inside the concrete, it won’t peel or flake like paint. Homebuyers also appreciate its sleek aesthetic and low maintenance, which can add a slight boost to your property's resale value.
