"I had an old light fixture removed that did not have a backbox & cover plate to house the wires correctly and a bedroom ceiling fan that mysteriously stopped working. I read a number of Angie's list reviews and felt that VMA Electric seemed like straight shooters, fully transparent and would be able to solve my issues efficiently. (I knew this job would be T&M rather than pre-quoted as it's impossible to say how long something like this would take). But Nancy in the office was wonderful to work with scheduling the work and she gave me the hourly rates ahead of time so I knew what I was going into. I was fortunate with my timing as they just had a cancellation - so they were onsite the very next morning. They solved both of my issues efficiently, cleaned up after themselves and made the whole process extremely wonderful. If you're reading this saying "I just need an electrician or two to come by and fix a couple of lingering items that I've had on my checklist for awhile" - you've found your company. The invoice/bill for the work was emailed to me the following day and it was exactly in line with expectations (a lot of reviewers are cautious about seeing an invoice after the fact). The pricing was exactly in line with the rates previously given and it was itemized with materials, etc. Anybody would be very happy with this group."

"Everything was done well and done quickly! Very reasonable as well since Joe found a way to wire the doorbell without tearing up half the basement (which has plastered ceilings - no drop). Really happy to finally have our video doorbell installed without paying an arm and a leg. Unlike some other contractors Joe did not try to sell me on a hardwired chime I don't need because these video doorbells can ring your Alexa or Google home. Everything completed between 9 and 1 on the same day. Very efficient."

They showed up early, started working right away and demonstrated great teamwork as they were separated most of the time being on second floor or basement and communicating over their phones. They informally shared status of conditions as they worked (which I really appreciated) and even went above and beyond by figuring out how to move the GFCI outlet in a better position to reach. We have used Harland Electric in the past and this proves they are able to go the extra mile to implement and solve electrical issues that other contractors can't."

The project involved running new wires through walls and ceilings into over six rooms, along with upgrades to electrical panels. Joe and his assistant were very courteous and respectful - they were careful to cover the hardwood floors and use drop cloths to control the dust, and vacuumed up at the end of each day. Joe did great work, everything to code, no cut corners, and brought to my attention some concerns outside the scope of the project that we also had him address. He is a good communicator and returns phone calls promptly. I completely trust him and the work he does, and recommend him highly."
