I have to share my 1st attempt on hiring the right guy for this project. It consisted of me getting a couple recommended contractors from others and thought I was good. Instead it was terrible, to the point where we mutually agreed it was best for them to remove the decking and poorly installed addition and walk away. Naturally I cautiously interviewed several more deck builders before deciding on MN Construction.
From the 1st call, Trevor impressed me. He made time out of his busy schedule to stop by or take my calls. He gave me an clear overview, answered questions and concerns from the last guy's work, explained why when asked, left samples, etc. He suggested deferent designs and product over others and why, building my confidence quickly. After we traded a few emails/texts, my decision to go with MN Construction was an easy one.
During the project, with a crew of 3, progress was made quickly. They were efficient, hard working, and asked questions when needed. The results are more than we expected to get because of his recommendations and I know our deck with last longer because of the quality of work/product they used. When I'd point out this or that, boom done, and better than expected. After interviewing several and hiring a couple, it's hard to find guys like this out there. You can bet they will be getting another call from me on other remodel work and I have already passed their name on.

"The A&M team consisting of Amy and Marshall arrived with all supplies needed and completed the repair job in one afternoon. Marshall explained each step of the repair process, from cutting and removal of the boards that were rotting, to examining the joists to ensure their integrity,cutting of the new boards and securing the 10 foot sections of boards. both Amy and Marshall offered excellent tips to me to continue to preserve our cedar deck. They also secured a railing board that needed adjustment."

"One structure in the form of a arbor with a gate completed our fence.
     The other structure a small deck outside of the lower sliding glass doors, with a pergola added,
     gives a quiet shady respite to the yard.
      We also had Hal design and build a fountain feature added to the garden area itself.  Which gives a soft
      and flowing water sound near the small deck.
      The work overall is outstanding with a very finished look.  It was also accomplished as per estimate of
       time and cost.  They were very considerate to make the work space neat and clean each day at finish
       time.

We were exceptionally pleased with the professionalism and the honesty of the person representing Sears. When we initially called him, he made an appointment for a free inspection.  He arrived at the appointed time. When he inspected our 2 garage doors, which were both off track, he said that the track systems could be replaced, without having to replace the doors. The doors are still in good shape. We had been told by one other company that the doors and tracks all needed to be replaced and their estimate was around $2600.
We made the appointment for him to replace the tracks. He arrived as scheduled and had the tracks replaced within a couple of hours.  The cost was $500, the same as the estimate he gave us.
We would definitely use this service again.

"I am in the middle of a DIY basement remodel. As part of this remodel I wanted a new furnace and to re-route the ductwork away from the center of the basement to the far wall. BFS came in at a slightly lower bid with the highest efficiency furnace. I debated a long time between the 97.7% Coleman modulating technology and the 95% Carrier 3-stage technology from a different contractor (both with variable speed blower motors). Doing research was pretty frustrating-- hard to find anything other than opinions, although hvac-talk dot com has a lot of posts on the topic. What swayed me most was the 10 year parts and labor warranty, BFS's volume of installs, and the lower repair parts cost for Coleman vs Carrier. BFS was good at answering questions and providing some resources for research. It took me a couple months from the initial quote to secure financing as I got a low interest loan through my neighborhood association. BFS was patient with the process and kept their initial quote good. They showed up on time and completed the work in just a few days. It was a bit of a complex project as I wanted to save as much headroom in the basement as possible. Dan the tech and Doug were good to work with and came up with a good solution for the ducting. The final invoice came in exactly as bid, and the inspection passed with no issues."
