"We are very pleased with the home inspection and radon testing services that Greg offered us! We received a super-thorough inspection report that's helping us improve the quality of our 1950s-era midtown Omaha home. And as first-time home buyers, we were a bit overwhelmed with all the moving pieces of financing and closing on a house. Luckily, we chose the right inspection and radon testing company, so that was one less thing to overthink! We appreciated Greg's thoroughness, helpful tips, and "tell it like it is" attitude. We highly recommend going with F2R if you're in need of an honest home inspection and radon testing company!"

"<p>it was superb! they easiest, hassle free Radon test in town, with extremely proficient people -- very knowledgeable and very people-friendly! they took their time to explain things on the phone to me before I committed. the test came back within 10 days or so -- via email. which is very convenient. it was very clear as it is, but I like talking through it and get advice. they were instantly available to discuss. they gave me future tips to keep on top of all things Radon related. </p> <p>I have to say that all this comes to be after 3 months of many back and forths with 3 other companies -- none of the other companies could be bothered to schedule a time, and those who did, never showed up.. many times over. I don't know why I was so patient with them and I wish had discovered Environmental Testing & Research Laboratories much sooner.</p> <p>Really highly recommend them!</p> <br />"

"We were without heat all night but thankfully we have a gas fireplace that kept the house bearable that night. Called sandhills first thing in the AM, left a message and they returned the call withing 30min. Jerry was here an hour after that. Diagnosed and fixed the problem within an hour and we were good to go. I think they did a good job and would hire them again. <br />"

"I contacted Jerry's basement regarding a strange sump pump drainage situation.  A rep from Jerry's came out to examine the drainage situation with my sump pump.  He pointed out some options and a simple fix that he advised me on how to complete myself if I was interested and wanted to save money.  I appreciated his honesty even though it cost him a bit of money.  Definitely plan on using them next year when we plan to upgrade our sump pump to a backup system. <br />"

"Three delivered and set up TVs later one finally worked properly. Nebraska Customer Service was excellent in giving us options on a trade out or future delivery of what we had purchased. We opted to go with what we purchased originally. NFM kept the new Tv's coming until we were satisfied, which we are.  From point of sale to final install dealing with the people that make NFM go has been excellent. <br />"

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Bellevue, NE

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
