"Mateo knew his products and understood our needs. He was able to help us make an informed decision. He was able to get us scheduled quick and put the right people on the job. The install crew arrived a week earlier than we expected. This was a good thing. Product had come in and the crew took about one week to install the Hardie siding. We figured it was a 2.5-3 week job. But this crew was good and fast. Done in one week! Jose’ led the crew and he does his best to help you decide on how trim prices and corners will come together. The siding turned out great but you can tell when there was a new guy doing the caulking. Most places had good, clean lines but some had finger smears wiping away the caulk. The crew ended up breaking 2 and losing 2 of our electrical junction boxes. We knew we were responsible for installing the exterior lights as it was written in the contract but this made it quite difficult and time consuming fixing their mistakes. The Hardie trim was covering these boxes and we needed to secure them to the house before a light could be installed. Took me 4hrs to replace 4 boxes working around the Hardie trim. Some of the boxes were also not secured but yet the installers trimmed over the box. Again 30 seconds to put a screw back in to secure the box would save the home owner lots of time. The crew was also ruff on our electrical plugs and we had to replace 3 of them as they broke the porcelain sockets. They had many power tools plugged into each outlet and over loaded the sockets. Easy fix but still more work for the home owner if a little care had been taken it could have been avoided. Over all we are happy with the siding and the install. DaBell did a great job communicating and had the work done ahead of schedule. Having a company that is able to get materials and labor together is tuff these days but they did what they said they would. Would have given them 5 stars had the electrical boxes just been secured before they put Hardie siding over them and not broke/lost the 4."

"Modernized Exteriors seem to have built a decent deck for a decent price but in a somewhat sloppy and dishonest way. First, they left hundreds of pieces of debris including over 100 nails, screws, and other fasteners, and hundreds of pieces of the old deck lying around, including some pieces over six feet long, many with embedded nails sticking out. For months, nearly every time my daughters went out to play they came back with a handful of nails and screws. Second, the old deck had a notch through which the gutter downspout passed to reach the drain in the ground. Instead of cutting a notch for the downspout, they just tossed it behind a bush allowing the gutter to empty directly onto the deck. They promised a 12-month warranty, saying they'd come out to correct any defects. When I mentioned the disconnected gutter they initially said they'd fix it, but then ignored my follow-up messages when I asked them to actually do it. So they may not honor their promises."

"The entire process was smooth from start to finish. Everything from picking the siding, colors and scheduling was a stress free experience and the owner is EXTRMELY knowledgeable about houses from the foundation up. They were even able to get me on the schedule sooner than expected! The whole job was completed in just a few days and my house felt instantly more snug and solid through the rest of winter, and it's been staying nice and cool this summer. The team was courteous and professional. They cleaned up the site at the end of each day and at the end left my property free from even small amounts of debris. 10 out of 10 experience!"

"Guardian advertises a "Gentle Wash" roof cleaning/moss removal process. Nothing could be further from the truth. In reality, they use an industrial strength air compressor and hire inexperienced, poorly trained, incompetent non-English speaking employees to perform this work. The result: While under a three (3) year contract, Guardian has destroyed my GAF 50 year guaranteed roof by shredding and removing the protective granules down to the asphalt itself. The damage is so extensive and widespread, it cannot be repaired. My roof needs to be entirely replaced at a cost of ~ $35K to $40K for a like kind of material. Guardian has attempted to mitigate the damage by inserting a new thin starter row shingle to "Hide" (not replace) the damage shingles around the entire perimeter of my home. This is an unacceptable remedy. I am awaiting for Guardian's attorney to respond to my request for compensation. Complaints also filed with BBB and the C of C."
