"Vertex has completed more than one project for me but I especially want to mention the amazing job they did replacing the siding on my home. The whole process was smooth, communication was great and they kept everything clean from start to finish. I’m very happy with the results and would definitely recommend them!"

"They did an excellent job and were fast and clean. Nato is also an incredibly nice guy and their prices were very reasonable. I have already asked him to come back and do re-do our front porch."

"We are so lucky we found Frederick Jones! Frederick was responsive, communicative, punctual and respectful of our space and time. But most importantly, his team's work was impeccable. Our architect-designed 1957 mid-century modern home has been given a new life thanks to Frederick's commitment to quality. He gave us sound advice on technique and products and he took very seriously our unique home's needs. His team's prep work was meticulous and when the few minor hiccups arose, they were very eager to make things right immediately. His strong, long-standing relationship with his team (who speak perfect English, which made things run even more smoothly) showed. While his team was completely trust-worthy, Frederick would visit the site regularly to check in and make sure that every i was dotted and t was crossed. He also worked well with the carpenter/contractor who was prepping the home for painting (fixing dry rot, building new trellis, etc.)."

"The last time I painted the entire house; stucco and trim, it cost about $3800. So I was surprised when the bids for just the trim were from $2200 to almost $3000. I chose Dave Casteel because he was very personable during the estimate and first meeting. His bid was also the lowest and I didn't see there was very much difference. His company also received very good reviews from Angie's List. Unfortunately, while the bid came in fairly quickly, the work kept getting delayed. From various telephone conversations, I think he'd taken on a lot of work and might have miscalculated the time required. Once they got started, one worker (Nick?) did the pressure wash one day and then the painters didn't show up for another few days. The two painters seemed to do very little to prep the wood in general except for a really badly chipped frame at the dining room window. I expected a lot more preparation - scraping, sanding, putty - based on my previous conversation with Dave during the estimate phase. However, I figured they knew their business better than me. When they finished the first day, they'd left cans and bottles around the house instead of putting them in the garage. It wasn't a big deal - not a lot of garbage - but it wasn't what I expected. Also, they'd taken the screens off - expected - but misplaced the metal holders at the bottom. I found several on top of the electric panel, several more in the dirt under the windows and another, obviously run-over and squashed, in the driveway. Again - not helpful or professional. The second day I pointed these out and they said they'd take care of it. I also pointed out the front door and screen door paint was uneven, the putty showed through (it hadn't been sanded) and generally needed another coat. When they left that day they said they'd need to have someone else come back to finish. By then, Bill 'was going on vacation' and Nick was in charge. He did his best and was very personable but it took awhile to get things finished. By then I realized all the windows had been painted shut! Nick did his best to fix that too, but in the process, broke one of my windows. He replaced it by the next day - no charge. Overall, it was a frustrating process. I am satisfied with the paint job - it looks good and so far has held up. But all the interruptions and mistakes were frustrating after I expected a more professional and responsible job."

"Lee and Manuel did a wonderful job installing a floating Azek deck in our atrium. What used to be an unusable dirt patch inside our house is now a lovely outdoor room. They we able to start soon after I contacted him and everything was on time and on budget. Couldn’t be happier."

"Joe did a great job on everything and much faster than I expected. See formal review below.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have used Joe, the sole proprietor of A-Z Handyman Services, Inc., for many projects over the past ten years, though I lost contact with him for a couple of those years before I moved into a house in the mid-Peninsula about four years ago. He is easily the most reliable, creative, and efficient handyman I have ever used and can efficiently handle most any project. I would not use any other handyman for any project, or at least would ask Joe first if he could handle it I know he has access to assistants to handle projects that require more than one person, as he has done that for me on occasion.
About a week ago, I used Joe for about nine relatively small, widely-varied projects, described in the box "what did the provide do." I have described a few of those projects in more detail below to give you a little more perspective about what he did for me. All projects were done in record time and in a complete manner.
In one project, Joe had to glue together several broken wooden door and frame parts for a locked door my son had to break into to get some clothes (he did not have a key), and it looks as good as new, though still needs to be repainted. In another project, fixing a heavy side gate so it would close, Joe could have easily chosen the standard and longer method (thus getting more compensation, as he works on an hourly basis) of taking the gate door down to fix the problem (probably requiring a lot of my assistance), but upon a close review he determined he could put in new and longer screws in such a way that they would up hold up the gate so it would close as it should.
In another project, where we had to go down to the local Ace hardware store to get a part normally needed to fix a sliding cabinet door problem, the part was not available, but Joe determined another method that solved the problem by buying a non-standard part. That saved a bunch of time and allowed Joe to fix the problem that day without having to wait for the part to come in a few days later and come back to my hose another day to complete that project.
I would trust Joe on most any project, and certainly would see if he could do them (I know he will give me an honest answer if he can't) and will even start using him as my plumber, as he quickly identified and fixed a toilet plumbing issue that I thought had been previously been fixed correctly by a locally renowned and heavily sought out plumber. Joe is all about fixing the problem the first time he comes out, sometimes creatively, if need be, to get the job done then and not at a later date, and always efficiently in a complete manner."
