Meek Jr. ventured to Northern California and opened the first Meek’s yard on the West Coast, in Redding, California. Expansion continued in both the West and Midwest in the early 1950’s. With the addition of two more stores, one in Chico and the second in Redding, Meek’s grew quickly to become the market leaders. For multiple generations, families have counted on Meek’s to be there when they built or remodeled their homes. Meek’s Lumber & Hardware currently has locations in Redding, Anderson, Chico, Yuba City, Tahoe, Carson City, Vacaville, Rocklin, Martell, Yreka, Meyers, and Gardnerville.
