"Requested an estimate after a comprehensive inspection by a different firm because the bid had seemed a bit high. Bay Area Termite Co. is a family-run business pretty close to my home, so it seemed like a good fit. Mark and his nephew performed the work after Mark had issued the quote. There was a bit of delay due to a mix-up in forwarding the estimate to me -- the email had been determined to be spam and was dumped into my trash until I followed up by phone, and a number I tried to use was apparently incorrect. Mark's mother handles the office functions and she got it straightened out. They were friendly and efficient. Floors everywhere they worked were draped with drop cloths and they were careful to insure that I understood the scope of their work. I'm fairly convinced they did a thorough job of detecting and treating all areas they could find, but it's probably not possible to be sure that absolutely all of the pests were eliminated. They'll check back in a year to perform a followup inspection; the warranty is for two years against any pests found by them or by me. Some other firms recommend tenting the entire house. I was not in favor of that because of the preparation difficulty and considering the difficulty in scheduling a time when we'd have to be away from home for several days or a week. The cost would also be pretty high, although the treatment could be arguably more effective. I can still go for such a treatment if this two-year trial with Orange Oil turns out to be unsuccessful."

"They were very responsive and before the first initial inspection and first appointment they always kept me up to date. My husband would have wished for options to be presented but there was only one. But after talking with those in the field, we were getting a good deal with Mighty Mite. They couldn't do all the work on one day due to the storm so we had to schedule the outside work to be done. I would have wished for a reminder update about the following meeting. We knew about it but since I didn't hear from them like I did for the inspection and the first treatment appointment I thought maybe we might have not been on the schedule. I never did call to confirm they were coming, they just did at the exact time they told my husband."
