"Travis and helpers have been the best handymen crew I've used in recent memory. His work is of the highest quality, he's right on time every day and works a full day if necessary, sometimes longer, his work is very reasonably priced, he uses the best materials, and, perhaps best of all, he's honest. He recently did a whole house painting for me, and it turned out to be an exceptional job. We agreed on one coat of paint overall, but in lots of places he put on 2 or 3 coats at no extra cost, we agreed on a limited, specifically identified amount of wood trim replacement, he replaced significantly more wood trim and didn't ask any extra. Lots of 2 story ladder work painting about 25 feet up and he didn't charge extra. He also replaced a wood deck for me and the quality of that work was outstanding. On top of all that he's easy to communicate with, respectful and courteous. As far as I'm concerned, he's the best!"

"We just had Duncan Enterprises perform major work to salvage and repair our 19 year old nearly 50’ long covered front porch. The porch was in serious risk of collapse since support posts were rotting below ground and the porch was separating and shifting in opposite directions. Before getting into the review, a quick statement for the purpose of transparency. No compensation of any kind was provided for this review. Before connecting with Duncan Enterprises, another contractor consulted was only willing to quote demolition and construction of a new porch. For a variety of reasons (including financial), I wanted it repaired rather than rebuilt. Given that background about the magnitude of the job to be done, I have a number of thoughts and observations about Duncan Enterprises, their employees, and their workmanship and quality. I was EXTREMELY impressed by the quality and workmanship of their work! The intermediate and final product looked cleanly constructed and very sturdy and robust. They used heavy-duty bracing, bracketing, and joining materials leaving me very comfortable that the deck is sturdier now that they’ve finished repairing it than it was when it was originally built. The level of expertise and ingenuity that Duncan possesses was on display with this project. The way the porch was coming apart while supporting the overhead roof made it very difficult to address any one issue individually. Nonetheless, Duncan came up with an approach to safely and effectively work through and correct the root causes of the problems. Another thing that impressed me was how careful the entire team was with our property. There was no damage to anything else they were working on or near. Furthermore, they kept the work area as clean as possible and even went to the extremes of trying to prevent tracking any mud on the porch even though they were working in the mud and snow beneath and around the porch. They always cleaned up the work area at the end of the day and kept everything neatly organized. Duncan has a high-quality team of hard-working employees that were always focused on getting the work done. Unfortunately, they had some extreme weather (cold and snow) conditions to work in during our project, but they worked through it nonetheless. They came and worked even on days that I thought would likely be unworkable due to the snow and rain. In short, they were very hard working and reliable. Another area where I was pleased was the level of communication. I felt “in the loop” during the whole process from quoting to project completion. On site, they were very good about describing and pointing out the issues and options. Throughout the whole process, they checked to make sure that they were meeting or exceeding our expectations. To summarize, I highly recommend Duncan Enterprises for all the reasons I’ve mentioned above. The did an excellent job for us, and I am thoroughly pleased with the final product. We will certainly use them again when the need arises."

"I signed the contract 10/23/19 with an expected pick up date by the end of the month. Heard on 10/30 that the transport had broken down and needed repairs. Talked to contact on 10/31 and reviewed alternative arrangements. Second transport option bailed out due to an emergency. Third option discussed. 11/05. I followed up and was told a driver was on the way. Pickup occurred 11/7 and delivery was 11/12. I paid extra for door to door service, but the transport could not navigate the residential streets, so pickup was in a mall parking lot. For the money paid, things could have gone more smoothly. Communication was okay, but given the starts and stops more wold have been better."

"We are pleased to recommend Triangle Reconstruction with our highest praise. It seems too simple to say that they do what they said they’d do, but that’s exactly what happened. Our home is around 50 years old. Ours was a large job - around a month and $30,000. We had Triangle Reconstruction come in after another moisture company provided mold remediation and a humidifier. I wish we’d contacted TR to start with. We provided TR with a structural engineering report. They created a plan to exactly meet all of engineer’s concerns. TR used temporary supports and replaced seal plates, girders, and joists for over half of our home. In addition, they poured footers and built new columns. They also added a few additional girders to firm up our floors. They removed and replaced our insulation. They sealed our porch and crawl space, replaced our vapor barrier, and installed a moisture meter. They wrapped our electrical cords and hung them. The people at TR are remarkable. A+++++"

"<p>While working with an electrician doing repairs we needed for a closing we mentioned to him (see my review for Enquist Enterprises Inc) we needed plumbing work. Justin immediately called them and ask them to come out then since we were there. In no time they showed up (and even though the house was vacant, they left their shoes at the door) and completed the needed items done quickly, efficiently and for a reasonable price. "After issuing a Request for Bid (contained specifically all of the work that needed to be accomplished) to four contractors our HOA board selected Salem Painting based on other Angie's list reviews and the price submitted.  Although Salem was not the lowest bid, they were close to the lowest bid and had a better overall response. <br /> Salem painting replaced trim around some windows, repaired a couple of door jams, replaced some trim boards and other carpentry work as well as repairing stucco that had been damaged over the years.  They did a good job prepping the areas to be painting and a great job painting the Clubhouse, Storage Building and Pavilion.  They used the paint we specified and even made recommendations for some changes to our approach that improved the final outcome. <br /> These guys are a professional crew who really know what they are doing and are pleasant to work with.  They showed up when agreed to, completed the job on time, cleaned up the area completely and did an overall great job!! <br /> We have gotten numerous comments from both residents and guest concerning how great the clubhouse looks now. <br /> I would definitely recommend Salem Painting!! <br /> <br />"

"<p>Crockett Home Improvement just completed 100% renovation of both of my mid-70's vintage bathrooms, and I could not be happier with the results. Owner George Crockett listened carefully to my renovation plans and concerns at the start of this process, and he met with me several times to formulate proposals that would work for me personally. He was always available by phone or e-mail, usually replying within a couple of hours, even on weekends and at night. I know that George stands behind all of his company's work, and that he will immediately address any customer concerns.</p> <p>Contractors Earl Shortridge and Johnny Snook performed the work, so I knew that the outcome would be entirely satisfactory: they renovated both of my parents' bathrooms last year, and those projects exceeded all expectations. Prior to starting both projects, Earl spent most of a Saturday with us, shopping for fixtures, vanities, flooring, lighting, etc. His renovation skills and excellent taste made the selection process flow much more smoothly, and we knew that everything we chose would work perfectly. </p> <p>As for the work itself, I still can't believe that craftsmen can completely gut a 40 year-old bathroom, cut tile, hang drywall, etc., and manage to leave your house clean at the end of the day. Earl and Johnny always left my home neat and in good order- I was consistently pleasantly surprised to find my home immaculate when I came from work. They are skilled in all construction/renovation trades : plumbing, electrical, drywall, flooring, carpentry, you name it. Earl designed and built the vanity and medicine cabinet in one of my baths, and they are absolutely beautiful, in both design, appearance, and quality. Throughout the process, Earl and Johnny made excellent suggestions regarding design and construction, but they always listened very carefully to my suggestions and worked hard to make my plans come to fruition. Both bathrooms are now finished, and the quality of workmanship is outstanding. Every detail is perfect- and I am pretty darned picky. The baths are beautiful, and they fit perfectly with the overall character of my home. I would not change a single thing. And my house is so clean, you would never imagine that a major construction project just wrapped.</p> <p>I can't imagine taking on another home renovation project in the future without Crockett Home Improvement. George has made the process so pleasant and easy, and his commitment to customer satisfaction has been rock-solid. Earl and Johnny are excellent craftsmen and complete professionals- honest, reliable, trustworthy, punctual, and just plain nice. I'll miss having them in my home.
