"We purchased a home in late August with two gas fired water heaters located in the basement. <br /> They appeared to be working properly when the home inspection was perfomed but not long after we moved in the water they provided got colder and colder until they appeared to stop working all together. <br /> One of them appeared to be fairly old (21 as it turned out) so we assumed it had reached the end of its life and, after checking Angie's List, contacted Family Plumbing & Heating to get a price for replacing them both with one high efficiency unit. <br /> Instead of taking advantage of our willingness to throw the old units away, they inspected them, diagnosed the problem as a defective thermostat on the older one and explained in detail why the water was cold even though the second heater was working properly. <br /> They offered to give us a price to replace them as requested but said they'd likely be okay for a few more years since the newer one was only 6 years old and the elements in both were in good condition. <br /> We opted to just replace the bad thermostat for now and will definitely be contacting Family Plumbing & Heating for our future plumbing related needs."

"when tech showed up the dryer seemed to be working and heating however it did not when I called, seemed the heating element was cracked creating and off and on working condition. I went ahead to repair the problem by purchasing a new heating element. I was surprised however that the tech expected me to pay in full before he ordered the part and repaired the problem, but I did using my credit card knowing if there was a issue the credit card co. would have my back, The part was order and Alex fixed it as soon as it came in and was great"

"Currently I am handling the affairs of my father who lives in Collinsville (I am in Richmond). My father told me the night before that he had worked on unclogging the bath drain for two hours that day and could not get it cleared, and also that the cap to the clean out valve in the back yard was broken and laying in the yard. Not knowing who to call in Martinsville for a plumber I could trust to go to my father's home and make the repairs I joined Angies list and looked for a plumber. I saw great reviews for Mr. Long and called him the next morning (March 5th) and told him the problem my father was having at his residence and Mr. Long said they would be by that afternoon to correct the problem even though his business was 30 miles away. Later that evening Mr Long called to let me know that he had fixed the drain and valve cap and what he found with the leaking pipe in the basement and what was needed to repair. He let me know that he had left an estimate with my father for replacing the leaking pipe and for replacing the kitchen faucet that I told him to look at. I gave him the go ahead for the pipe and faucet replacement and he has made plans to come back and make both repairs. When I ask how much I owed him for the work that day he told me to just wait until he came back and fixed the pipe and faucet and he would give me one invoice. In this day and time company's are all about the money but yet Mr. Long was telling me to just wait to pay him when he finished the other work. <br /> Mr. Long is a true professional, polite and honest and I would recommend him to anyone with a plumbing problem, he went out of his way to insure me that I could trust him to do what was right and I will use him in the future if the need exists. <br />"

"The process of them putting in a sump-pump system in my basement getting water seepage went pretty well. It took them a long time to get to me because, from what I understand, they stay pretty busy. I was initially told my job wouldn't get done until February 29, 2016 but they then had an opening on December 23, 2015 and they came in and jack-hammered around the perimeter of my basement, where the water was coming in, and installed the piping, sump-pump and reservoir. Initially I was told it would be a one day job but as it happened, they had to come back later to finish up. The first day they did do everything except bury the outlet pipe outside and then re-cementing over where they had dug up my basement to install the piping. For about a week I did have a gravel filled trench in my basement but at least I didn't spend Christmas shop-vacuuming up water like I had been doing. They came back on December 30, 2015 for about half a day and finished up the job. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I thought the people at Seal-Tite were very nice to deal with.  Initially their estimate was over $3,000.00 but they gave me a little discount for having to reschedule my initial assessment and quote in November and they also honored their Angie's list coupon. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The important thing, the water has stopped flowing into my basement which ruined my carpet which I had removed by another contractor. I now have the task of picking out new carpeting, getting the new cement sealed, etc., which will be handled by someone else. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />So far, everything they did seems to be working ok. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />If you do hire them, be sure to give them a deposit so you can be put on their short list in case they have a cancellation. "My wife and I purchased our home (ranch 1495 sq', built in 1958) and realized it needed a lot of foundation work due to years of moisture damage. This included replacement of the main girder, 41 joists, and mold remediation. While we were at it, we let Triangle Reconstruction guide us through why encapsulation is the preferred method for eliminating our crawlspace moisture issues. So let's break down the score: Overall = A - This will be explained as I go through the other metrics Price = B - Triangle Reconstruction was competitive. They were not the cheapest, and no where close to being the most expensive. This was a $30,000 job. It was one I have never done, and hope to never do again. One of their workers even took me on a tour of the crawlspace explaining the foundation repair, the French drains, the sump pump. I was able to see how much work they did, and because of that, I felt I found a company that priced things fairly. Quality = A Work was done as expected in a reasonable amount of time. The job was permitted and the town inspector passed the project without issue. The inspector mentioned that his house is encapsulated and the work, both the foundation and encapsulation were done well. There were some minor items that I noticed, and Triangle Reconstruction was able to come back onsite an address. They worked with our schedule and completed everything to our satisfaction. Responsiveness/Communication = A The great thing is that for our project there were two people looking working with us, Drew and Rob. When we had a question and needed an immediate or quick response, it is best to pick up the phone. My wife and I were able to reach Drew or Rob without issue. We worked with Drew early on, he was our first point of contact, so we never felt uncomfortable picking up the phone an calling him. He insisted we call him with any questions. Once we met Rob, that same level of comfort was established. I mostly emailed with Rob (it was a little slower i.e. not immediate response, but more than acceptable. However, getting him on the phone was never an issue. I add that our culture's expectation to texts and emails is immediate, and those expectations should be tempered. It is important to understand that Triangle Reconstruction provides numerous avenues to contact them, and my wife and I never had an issue. So they respond to emails, to phone calls, and their crew shows up and works when they are scheduled. Scheduling with Triangle Reconstruction was relatively easy and they worked with us, and we with them. Punctuality = A They arrived in the morning, at a reasonable time (not too early), and were usually working when we got home. They did not work too late, which was comforting as I like to settle down after a day of work. I found this showed respect for our time and our home life. This was not the stereotypical experience of a contractor working like a college student goes to class. They were efficient and ultimately effective. Professionalism = A Drew - very knowledgeable, willing to follow-up and check in Rob - very knowledgeable as well, understanding, willing to take the time to come onsite and answer questions, address concerns. I felt like they were both available and genuinely cared. The crew - super nice, and respectful. I think it went well. I am skeptical of contractors, mechanics, anyone that can easily get over on me. It is important to be an informed consumer. It is important to ask questions of your contractor, and be involved in the process. Triangle Reconstruction allows this. I would hire again with hesitation. I am currently monitoring our crawlspace with humidity sensors and Rob is helping us tweak the settings as we wrap up the project. I think Rob, Drew and crew have a good thing going, and I wish them best. Update 9/19/2017 - I use AcuRite humidity sensors and noticed I had an area that was a little high, slightly above 60%. Triangle Reconstruction came back onsite, repositioned the dehumidifier and now things have improved. Rob had no issue making sure the appropriate humidity level was maintained and consistent throughout our crawlspace."
