"After I reviewed on line information regarding mold removal and crawl space encapsulation, I began looking for a contractor that would perform the necessary steps to remediate my crawl space. After obtaining several quotes and researching the various companies involved in crawl space mold issues, I selected Kefficient. The major reasons for selecting Kefficient was that I found that the owner, Mark Keffer, was very knowledgeable about mold removal and encapsulation and followed Chesterfield County requirements in permitting, removal of all mold contaminated insulation between floor joists, treatment of mold with a chemical agent which effectively destroys it, cleaning of all areas where mold has grown to remove any remaining spores, sealing the crawlspace vents, encapsulating and insulating the crawlspace, and installing a permanent dehumidifier with an in home monitoring device to ensure moisture levels remained within acceptable limits. His company did an excellent job during this process and kept me informed along every step of the way. After completion, the job was inspected by a Chesterfield County inspector and passed all requirements. "The crew arrived on the date/time promised. They were polite, professional, and worked non-stop (except for 2 short breaks and lunch). Because of my landscaping, the crew determined the best way to get to the bottom of the foundation was to dig a hole—24” x 8’. It was truly impressive—perfectly squared off. They sealed the wall, replaced the dirt, and replaced decorative stone. They then installed a 50’ French drain—trenching, refilling the trench, and removing excess debris. The crew worked as a team, did a top-notch job, and left the job sites better than they found them. It took them 4 days—and they never wavered from an extraordinary work ethic. That was last week. This week? We’ve had torrential downpours and flooding—but my basement and garage are dry. I’d hire them again in a heartbeat."

"I had a 50-year-old house with a cinderblock basement wall that had water slowly coming through. I researched the various firms that did waterproofing and had three highly rated firms come out for an estimate. The first contractor didn’t even bring a flashlight and just looked around and said to keep an eye on it. The second gentlemen did provide detailed estimate and carefully explained the problem. Randy, the owner, from Chamberlin Washington provided a similar diagnosis and estimate. His estimate was not only a little less expensive but he looked at the entire house and found other things that could use some maintenance. This is what I liked about Randy – he looked at the whole house and discovered several smaller things that should be fixed to avoid issues down the road. These were all things I knew about already but I’m glad someone took the time to examine the entire house and not just the one issue I was having. We had then not only waterproof the outside wall but also fill the expansion joints in our patio and seal one basement window as well as re-point some mortar joints in the brink chimney. When the crew came they went to work. They also did an admirable job protecting our plants. An old section of of a 6' high stockade fence had to be removed and I bough a new section and the crew was happy to put that up. When they water tested the wall they found a small leak. They re-did the sealant and that did the trick. Randy came out and supervised critical parts of the job. He was great to work with and happily fixed a few small things at the end. Randy really cares about doing the job right. I am 100% pleased with the work they did. I watched over much of the repair and everything was done correct and by the book. Overall I can't say enough about how pleased I was with Chamberlin-Washington and their work. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone."

"burned I called Gary he was on his way back to my area from FL. I told him that we had no water that I thought our pump had gone out. He drove all night and was at my house by midday. He went under the house and found out that our pressure gage had burned up. But since we knew our pump was close to being gone and he had one in the truck we just had him fix it. "Randy is a hands-on owner who estimates every job himself - generally within 24 hours of being contacted (even on weekends). His quotes are usually accurate. Employees seem competent and behave professionally. I don't think that the rates are the lowest but that is offset somewhat by the fact that the work is done well, done quickly, and on schedule. The work is also "backed up" if follow up is needed or if something isn't quite right. I anticipate continuing to use this company."
