"This is my second project for Scott and everything went very well once again. He cut back & trimmed my entire yard of bushes and smaller trees. He installed sod in areas that had thinned. He extended a stone driveway to look like a river bed because grass was thinning in that area also. He planted azaleas & put down mulch along the side of the bed. The crew of 3 arrived early and worked hard all day during this 2-day project. They were polite and very professional. They always listen and aim to please. I am very satisfied with their work and would not hesitate to hire them again."

"We hired Baron to repair a failing paver stone patio. His work was first rate, and his price was very reasonable. The patio looks great! He was prompt, dependable, and personable. I would hire him and his team again."

"Very detailed and takes pride in the job he does. Took up an old brick walk built in 1930, cleaned mortar from bricks, and relayed them in a very difficult pattern. Took his time to measure each row to line up perfectly! I highly recommend him to do any masonry job!! In my opinion heâ s the best! I am extremely pleased with his work and the finished job!!"

"The quality of the work performed was excellent. I am very pleased with the appearance of the replaced section of my driveway The front steps now look as good as new, as well. The cost exceeded the initial estimate, but I have to give them a pass on that, as there were some real surprises during removal of the old concrete (no grade preparation was done for the original driveway, just concrete poured over uneven ground, so in places it was 4" thick, and in others about 12" thick, making removal very difficult). Carlos Concrete did a good job with leveling the site and placing stone over the ground before pouring, and that should result in a better driveway long-term. My only reservation was a delay in removing the tree roots excavated from the site before pouring the new driveway section. They were professional and friendly."

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Blythewood, SC

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
