"We could not be happier with the remodel of our dated, dysfunctional, tiny kitchen. Ruben was very professional, friendly and a real problem solver. He continually went above and beyond and we simply cannot say enough about what a great contractor he is. We had an unforeseen deadline and he and his staff worked very hard to make sure the job was finished. Their work was meticulous and the final result outstanding. Thank you Ruben and staff!"

"Very knowledgeable of the coastal environment and what hardware can stand the test of salt air. Also replaced windows and redid the siding of my home. And priced within reason!"

"My wife and I found GVD Renovations at the Northern California Home & Landscape Expo Sunday January 26th. We booked for a price quote and within the week (January 30th.) Gary was at our house giving us a quote for a wall addition. The job also included electrical for outlets, lights switches, instillation of a hard wired smoke detector, installation of three recessed lights, painting, texture, matching baseboards, framing to include a 4x12 header 11.7 ft length for future french barn doors, cutouts of existing laminate, and bathroom vanity kick-plate replacement with caulking to prevent further splashing problems from children in the bathtub. We were able to sign a contract the same day due to fair pricing and the confidence Gary had in his company. The fact that they are active members of multiple contractor associations and have an extensive history of positive feedback was a major factor in deciding to sign the same day as well. We planned for 1-2 weeks of work as we decided to permit the wall addition. Very soon after Vlad was at our house on the weekend drawing up the designs for the permit. We then were able to expedite the build and started Monday February 17th. Alex and Peter were the contractors working on our home. They were amazingly polite, they involved my wife and I in the build process, they closed off the room to keep our house clean, covered pictures, covered laminate, and were extremely efficient. Of note, I have three small daughters and one with Autism who has lots of noise sensory problems. Alex and Peter were conscientious of my daughters needs and would give me a heads up when the were preparing to make lots of noise. They worked throughout the week and then finished the clean up to coincide with the final permit inspection on the following Monday. One more thing of note is that as the inspectors were touring their work they made time to mention how impressed they were with the frame job. I am giving GVD Renovation and its team the most glowing recommendation I have ever given any contractor before as I have never had this much ease, to include total job satisfaction, and as well as billing satisfaction with a contractor. Thank you all so very much. I have been recommending you to all my family and friends and will be keeping your number close for any future projects."

"Buyer beware - the sales people are great but the installers will make you wish you went elsewhere. I love the windows but this company has been a nightmare to get my problems resolved, it’s been over a month since my windows were installed and their corporate offices are still giving me the run around. The day before my window install was scheduled, they tried to call me to cancel it. I explained I own a small business that requires me to be there M-F and I had to have people on my team work extra so I could step away on a weekday, and if they wanted to reschedule that was fine but I couldn’t reschedule for another month or so due to staffing at my business. They decided to send a different crew out instead of delaying the job on their own volition. The people who did the install work were incredibly unprofessional, disrespectful and messy. One of the employees was yelling and swearing at the other employee, in front of me, while my neighbor’s young children are outside playing. So embarrassing. They broke my solar pathway lights doing the install, damaged so many plants in my front and back yard some of which were not even near the windows, didn’t caulk the windows all the way, left my siding hanging off of the house (I nailed it back in myself) and got my deck covered in caulking. They failed to repair obvious dry rot under the windows that I went over with both the sales person and the person who came to double check the measurements, both of whom assured me that the work crew would be sure to address anything like that. To make it worse, they failed to put this note about the dry rot on my work order, which I could see in the corporate notes regarding my complaint when they sent someone back to look at the damage. If you have dry rot you want them to deal with, get it in writing on the work order so they don’t gaslight you about it when they fail to do their job. I’ve never witnessed such disrespect and behavior from a work crew before. The one employee who was particularly aggressive intimidated me, I didn’t want him to turn on me as a small young woman home alone so I just watched in complete shock. After this experience, I emailed the salesperson who was apologetic and had the person who did the measurement check return to my house to see the work that was done. He took photos of the damage, we discussed the dry rot failure, he addressed the caulking, repaired my siding, and cleaned my deck. He reassured me corporate would do the right thing and address my damaged garden and broken solar path lights within a month. No one ever did, so I followed up with the salesperson. The COO called me once, left a voicemail and I’ve tried calling him back over 5 times over the course of 2 weeks. He is conveniently never available to take my call. Overall this is a complete failure to make a situation right and do right by your customers. If a customer is dissatisfied and dealing with damage that is literally costing them money out of their pocket, you should do the right thing and reimburse for the damages. I gave them a chance to make it better but their true colors are shining through."

"It went perfectly. I called and spoke to the office immediately. They came out the next day on a Sunday prepared to give an estimate and complete the job. Everything is done. They performed quality work with quality products, very professional, clean-cut, honest, efficient, fair price. We are very happy and highly recommend them."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Bodega Bay, CA

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
