"I was considering 3 companies to do the work. They provided the best deal. The installation went very smoothly; finished in a day. Very happy with the process to that point. Had some problems with some logistics afterward. The papers weren't processed properly to iniitally run the solar panels (it took 2 months till we figured out the electric company hadn't 'turned on' the panels). There was also some problems with the paperwork for the tax rebates that slowed things down. I talked to the owner Mark, who was very sorry for the problems and offered a small refund, even though we don't really know what happened. He wanted to be sure I was a happy customer, which I am. I was impressed by his professionalism. However, I'm still not seeing the savings that I was told. I've had my house energy audited, installed Nest thermostats, and still not seeing a major decrease in my KWh usage. I can only assume that we are having a hotter season than last year; hoping to realize savings next year.

"This review is for Reliable Roofing Company out of Van Nuys, CA. I requested a quote based on the reviews from Home Advisor. The next morning I received a call from Diane and she scheduled for Mike and Sunny, the project managers, to come out that same day for an estimate. They showed up on time and were very friendly. They made me feel comfortable with their sales pitch however the only thing I was not happy with was their estimate, was on the high end of $37K and I said no. I have a wood shake roof which was replaced with black onyx asphalt tile. I did have two layers of shingles on a 2,286 square foot roof which does cost more due to labor. They also needed to replace a few fascia boards due to termite damage. This also included new insulation, new flashing, and roof ventilation. Mike right away got on the phone and called his boss Vic and asked for a discount. Vic finally came down to $28K and I said let's do it. The workers showed up the next day to demo the roof. It turns out the workers found additional water damage to the support beams on the frame of the roof. Vic and Sunny showed up and advised me of the issue and said it is optional to replace the support beams but wanted to charge me an extra $7,500. I told them I would only pay an extra $5K otherwise don't replace the beams. Vic agreed so the total came to $33K for an entire re roof. There were some issues that arose during the process but Sunny the project manager was on top of things and eventually resolved those issues. The job itself took two weeks and the workers cleaned up most of the nails and wood chips on the last day of the job. I personally did have to walk around my property and did find a few nails here and there. It did take another week for the city inspector to show up and approve the work done. For you interest, as part of The City of Garden Grove inspection you are required to have smoke/carbon monoxide detectors in your home. In the end the roof looks great and I am very satisfied with the final out-come. Reliable Roofing is pricey, however they do quality work."

"Tech arrived within time frame agreed upon. He checked out thermostat. Found it defective and had to order replacement. Has not yet finished job, but i expect to hear from him as soon as he acquires replacement to schedule installation."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
