"This is the 4th time I have hired SILMAC for a project, and this was the largest job by far - a full gut renovation of my kitchen, adding a powder room, and putting on an addition with a laundry/mudroom. I’m so pleased with how everything turned out - it is truly the space I had dreamed about when I bought the house! Joe and his crew are extremely reliable and responsive. It’s inevitable that bumps in the road will arise during a large renovation like this, especially in an old house, but Joe was proactive in addressing them and always kept me informed. His level of service truly stands out! It doesn’t surprise me that he has over 200 reviews and nearly a 5 star rating - he is that good! You will not be disappointed hiring SILMAC for your next project."

"Bauman Remodeling was given a tough job renovating my outdated living room and absolutely knocked it out of the park! They took the room from the 80’s into the 21st century. Mike and his team completely gutted the room, redid electrical, installed underfloor heating, replaced stairs, installed a pocket door, plastered the room, and build a custom builtin that is now the beautiful focal point of the room. His team paid attention to the tiniest details and worked tirelessly to bring our vision into reality. I was thoroughly satisfied with the work Mike and his team did and wholeheartedly recommend Bauman Remodeling for all projects large and small."

"It was a pleasure to do business with Kinsella Built. Every aspect of the Bathroom Remodel experience was a joy. A few notables: - The professionalism exhibited by Grainne, John & James and their crew, and the plumbing, electrical and tile sub contractors was top notch. - The tidiness during the project and their final clean up was impeccable. - The cost (on budget) and timeliness (on schedule). - Craftmanship is amazing. - The communication experience was second to none. Kinsella Built was super responsive to every phone and text inquiry. Grainne talked us through questions we had with the proposal, checked in a couple of times during the project and visited for a look at the finished project and to answer and questions. I was advised by John or James of what to expect as the project progressed. We highly recommend Kinsella Built."

Customers say: Quality work

"Edian and his crew at Alexis were sensational to partner with, did very high quality work, and made the experience seamless despite a meaningful degree of complexity. I purchased an old (c 1900) two-family home knowing it was in need of a lot of work, but I didn't appreciate the full scope of that work; there are always surprises in the walls! Edian was very thorough in his initial bid, was highly detail-oriented once work commenced, and always fully explained to me everything he found. He and his team of highly experienced trades folks were always able to come up with creative solutions to the problems we uncovered, and usually were able to give me multiple, easy-to-understand options for how to proceed. In terms of the finished product, I couldn't be happier. Another element that impressed me was the level of service throughout the project. Edian treats every client like they are his only client, even when he has other jobs going. He always goes above and beyond when it comes to responding to questions or issues that come up, making time to meet and discuss ideas, or just generally addressing concerns. Edian also did a great job of coordinating the work of other trades folks who had parts to play on the project (but weren't his own subs), such as the landscapers and various custom installers. And, as we finished parts of the project and tenants moved into the building, he even did some light property management work for me (receiving deliveries, helping with installation of fixtures, helping with move-in). Truly a white-glove experience. And just a note on Edian himself, I couldn't have asked for a more responsive, proactive, patient, and trustworthy contractor. I had some experience going in, but this project was the first of this scope I had taken on, and Edian not only helped me feel at ease through the bumps in the road, but also taught me a ton about how these complex renovations are done successfully. He also has an incredible level of follow-through and reliability (anyone who's worked with many contractors knows how rare this is!), and continued providing support for little things that came up after the scope of work was completed (ripped screens, installing finishing hardware, repairing a door, etc.). Bottom line, Alexis isn't necessarily the cheapest option out there (Edian will tell you this from the beginning of the project), but if you want very high quality and a highly responsive and trustworthy relationship with a contractor and crew, look no further. Personally, I won't use anyone other than Edian for future projects."

"I highly recommend using Scott Curtice for any renovation project no matter how complex it is. We bought a house that was over a hundred years old that had not been renovated for decades. Starting from the planning stage, Scott was wonderful about redesigning the house in order to open up the space and bring it into a more modern look. He spent several sessions reworking his plan always taking into account our needs and desires. Once the actual renovation began, we ran into a number of complex structural issues with the house itself. No matter what obstacle came up, Scott and his team were able to find solutions. His team was efficient in their work and they were all always reliable. In fact, many of our neighbors were astounded that all subcontractors worked on the home daily and that they actually were busy the entire time they were at our house. In addition, the lines of communication between ourselves and Scott, as well as his subcontractors, were always open. They kept us abreast of the project's updates and always made suggestions for ways to improve the work for aesthetics and/or cost savings ideas. Scott’s work was beautiful and he and his crew paid attention to every detail. The majority of the house required a gut renovation and it came out exquisite. Even after the job was complete, he was always available for questions. I would highly recommend using them for any job you have."

"Highly recommended!! Liam did a wonderful job with my closer repair. The room was gutted to the studs from a water leak and Liam put it back together beautifully. "I am very pleased with the work completed by Crystal Renovations in my home. The company's owner, Pedro Quissalga, is knowledgeable and has a fantastic crew. He implemented the bathroom, laundry, and closet design ideas beautifully. A critical positive factor was communication. Pedro was responsive to my questions and concerns. He kept me informed every step of the way during the construction. Another important factor was their care in keeping the renovation project clean and organized. The team was also mindful of how the construction may impact the rest of the building and did their best to keep the noise level down. I highly recommend Crystal Renovations."

"Back room looks beautiful! During demo, room was sealed off from rest of the house to keep dust and debris contained. Tom and Eric always made sure things were cleaned up at the end of the day. Kitchen project, my husband and I picked cabinets out and T & E worked with us and were great when we needed modifications to make it all work. They were here longer than expected and that was due to some surprises on our end and they handled it amazingly since I'm sure we upset other timelines for their next projects! The price was very reasonable and approximate date was end of May 2015."

"We needed to renovate the third floor of our house, which was originally one open high-ceiling space used as a den, family room, and home office. Our goal was to maintain the open space concept while creating two separate offices, a small library room, a family room, and a bedroom. While it might sound challenging, thanks to D&S Partners Construction Inc., it turned out even better than expected. The tasks involved installing a hardwood floor, adding a wall with a door and closet for the bedroom with high-raised bookshelves facing the family room, creating two office spaces in two of the three dormers, and converting the third dormer into a library with a French door. To maintain an open feeling, we used glass (from Boston Glass) to separate the offices from the main room, providing excellent sound isolation. Between the family room and the bedroom, we had a retractable wall installed, which was manufactured and delivered by Tudelu, allowing the two rooms to function as one open space or be separated and sound-isolated when the bedroom is in use. The retractable wall was running between the newly installed wall with closets and bookshelves and a big arch window we wanted to preserve. Only two windows had to be replaced with slightly narrower ones to accommodate the flame for the Tudelu wall. My wife and I came up with the whole concept, but DS provided excellent advice at every step of the project, and several adjustments were made. Additionally, there was significant electrical work, AC tube replacement, and painting throughout the entire floor. We had an amazing experience with Sanfer, his son Matt, and the entire crew, that yielded fabulous results. They were incredibly professional throughout the project. Sanfer responded right away after listing our needs, explaining all the steps and costs upfront, with no hidden surprises. The work began promptly, within a week of signing the contract, and was completed exactly as expected. The main work took two months with no delays. As anticipated, the glass walls and doors were installed a month later, followed by the retractable wall from Tudelu two months after that. We couldn't use the floor only for two months. The glass and the retractable wall installations which were completed later on upon their delivery didn’t disrupt our work at all. This was perfectly well organized and managed by D&S. We were impressed by the friendly, understanding, and highly professional nature of the team. Their work ethic was exceptional, and their quality was outstanding, demonstrating a commitment to perfectionism. Sanfer ensured that every detail was perfect, no matter how small. They are unbelievably clean and organized. We selected him from several contractors we met with, and he stood out for his deep understanding of our needs and immediate professional advice. We expected a great job, but his work exceeded our wildest expectations. I don’t look for any other contractor anymore when it comes to home renovation. We have something in mind for the first floor/basement, so if we decide to do it, it will be his project for sure. I cannot imagine anything better than D&S."

"Antonio and his crew remodeled our front hall, completely relocated /
rebuilt our kitchen, and converted our 3 season porch into a heated
sun room. They did everything from the demo work to the final touches of
installing the back splash.
Antonio and his crew, (and I'm lumping in his
subs for the plumbing and electrical parts here), did an outstanding
job on our renovation project. Renovation projects can be stressful and
Antonio did a great job through the whole project. He was always
reachable when we had a question or a concern and always made it a
priority to make sure we were satisfied with the results. In some cases that meant working with us on what we wanted, leaving out samples for us to look at when we got home, or even sending picture text messages to make sure it's what we wanted before doing it. It's those types of things that make a big difference in the final result.
All renovation project encounter problems. In our case we had a few design
issues as well as delays with our counter tops that held up plumbing install and a few other things. First off these are problems that were not caused by
Antonio's team but rather reinforce the need to hire a team like them who can help you through it and work around it.
Finding the right contractor is as much
about personality fit as it is about finding one with the right skill set. I'm going to level with you. My wife and I can be tough customers. An engineer and   and architectual designer by trade, I'll admit we can be picky about certain parts of the project. Maybe that's an understatement, I don't know, but more importantly I think that says something about our contractor. You have to Antonio for his patience, attention to detail and pride in his work. They were evident throughout the project and most importantly in the final result. I have no reservations about hiring him and his team again for future work to our home.
Of the 2 other bids we considered for this project, I'm glad we went"

FAQs for major renovation multiple room service projects in Boston, MA

Gutting a house involves completely removing outdated elements, including drywall, insulation, and fixtures, to reveal the underlying structure. This process is not only ideal for a complete remodel but is also critical in emergency situations such as flood damage where compromised materials must be replaced immediately. Contractors follow OSHA-approved safety measures throughout the demolition to ensure a secure work environment. This method provides a fresh, safe canvas for any future renovation.

Gutting a house is a cost-efficient choice. Home renovations cost between $20,000 and $88,000 compared to the cost to build a new house of $122,500 to $411,500. The reduced cost stems from retaining the existing structural framework while updating the interior. Factors such as house size, material quality, and labor directly influence the total expenses, making a gut renovation a financially smart decision.

The cost of demoing an interior is worthwhile because gutting a house creates a completely safe and refreshed environment by removing toxic or damaged materials like asbestos, mold, and deteriorated components. Professional supervision ensures all hazards are properly managed and health and safety standards are met. This process revitalizes the home's interior and can increase its structural integrity and overall value.

Remodeling a bathroom costs between $6,640 and $17,600, with high-end remodels exceeding $30,000. The final price is directly influenced by the quality of fixtures and design features—modern tiling, advanced plumbing, and custom details all add to the definitive expense. By selecting superior materials and design elements, homeowners ensure both functionality and a remarkable aesthetic upgrade.

Kitchen renovations range from $14,500 to $41,500 when the original layout is maintained. However, changing the layout by removing load-bearing walls or upgrading to premium appliances directly escalates costs, often adding over $1,000 per modification. These precise enhancements reflect the high-quality standards and result in a transformative and efficient upgrade.

A full gut renovation typically spans between four months and a year and a half. This period accounts for the permitting process, material procurement, and the overall scale of the project. Every phase—from demolition through rebuilding—involves careful planning and execution to meet deadlines while ensuring the work adheres to safety and quality standards.
