"We had an excellent experience with Jacuzzi! We had 2 showers and 1 bathtub, all damaged and leaking, that needed to be replaced. The installers were friendly and professional. They all did excellent work and we're very happy with the new showers and baths. We've had some bad experiences with other contractors recently, so it was very refreshing to have such a smooth and high quality experience. Thank you so much Tanner, Garrett, Andrew F, Kaden, and Armando!"

"Cayetano was such a great help! We have had a leaky shower for days now so we got around to taking time to hire a plumber and come help. Avila plumbing was here in no time fixing and getting our home back to normal! We are thankful for the work, the time and energy you put into the project. We appreciated the attention to detail and eagerness to really help us. The project was supposed to be small and quick and sure enough we have drywall coming out and Avila in the zone 4 hours in! We are thankful and definitely recommend their service. We have another project lined up as well."

"Ismael contacted me first out of other 5 pro I initiated through Angi, just minutes after. I chatted back and forth with him few times while collecting offers from all the others. In the end I decided to proceed with his business Chandler's Plumbing and set up and appointment for install today at 3pm. Josh showed up at my door 3:20pm and they replaced old 19y old leaking tank with new Rheem and were done by 4:05pm. That's 45min for entire operation! I'm happy with this experience and took few pics."

"The work began on December 30, 2015 and continued, with a break for New Year's Day, into the next week. Everyone connected to the project was professional, honest, friendly, and efficient. The men tore out the old tile and backing, inspected the wood, and removed the old tub. All the discarded materials were hauled away. They installed the new tub and Jason did the plumbing. They then installed new insulation, cement board, and a vapor block sheet. Jason knew that having a bathroom out of commission for any time was inconvenient, so he kept the down time to a minimum. I had one night without the use of the toilet while the floor tile set, and then they were back the next day, finishing the job. Finally, my dream bathroom was complete and it looked beautiful!
During this process, the toilet was removed and reconnected several times to keep it available for use as much as possible. Perhaps in one of those moves, something fell into the drain. In any case, I had problems in the weeks that followed with blockage in the toilet and tub, but Jason responded quickly and did his best to clear it. The third time, he hired a plumber to snake and camera the drain. The problem was resolved and has not returned. Throughout, Jason remained calm, professional, and kind in his dealings with me.
I liked all the people who worked with Jason; they clearly respected me, my daughter - even our little dog - and were careful to keep us informed of every step in the process. I also noticed that they spoke respectfully to each other and never made negative remarks, even during the arduous process of pulling out a 300+ pound tub. I now have a wonderful deep tub to relax in after a hard day's work. It is a beautiful space and I'm happy I chose Precision Built Construction. I will definitely hire Jason again for my
next renovation project."

FAQs for shower installation and replacement projects in Boulder Creek, CA

Replacing your tub with a shower can modernize your bathroom and improve accessibility, often providing a high return on investment. However, if it's the only bathtub in your home, removing it may decrease resale value, as many buyers look for at least one bathtub. Consider your long-term plans and consult a real estate professional if resale value is a concern.

While showers cost slightly more to install than tubs, the overall expense depends on various factors such as materials, size, and features. A tub installation costs $2,400 to $8,800 on average, whereas showers average $2,000 to $9,400. Custom designs, luxury fixtures, or extensive plumbing work can increase costs for both options. It's important to assess your specific needs and budget when deciding between installing a shower or a tub.

Converting a tub to a shower generally takes between one and three days. The timeline depends on the complexity of the project, materials chosen, and whether plumbing modifications are necessary. Installing a standard prefabricated shower can be completed quickly, while custom tile work or extensive plumbing changes may extend the project's duration. Planning accordingly can help minimize disruptions during the conversion.

Converting a tub to a shower offers several benefits, including saving space and making your bathroom feel more open and modern. Showers improve accessibility, especially for those with mobility challenges, by eliminating the need to step over a high tub wall. Additionally, updating to a stylish shower can enhance your bathroom's aesthetic appeal and may increase your home's resale value if another tub is available elsewhere in the house.

Choosing between a shower stall and a custom shower depends on your budget and preferences. Prefabricated stalls are less expensive and faster to install but offer limited styles. Custom showers allow personalization of size, materials, and features but cost more and require professional installation. Evaluate your needs and budget to select the best option for your space.

If you’re converting a tub to a shower, you may want to consider remodeling your whole bathroom. The ROI on bathroom remodels is high (over 70%), so you can enjoy an upgraded bathroom while you live in your home and get your money back if you decide to sell later. The average cost to remodel a bathroom is around $6,600 to $16,600, so factor in this price range when you’re budgeting for your project.

Converting a tub to a shower alone isn't easy to DIY, so look for a bathroom remodeler near you if you decide to take on a larger bathroom remodel to ensure it's done correctly.
