"RIGO was referred to me from a customer that he did the job while he was working for another company. He told me upfront That he is a new company and that I could call his former employer to ask questions about him and that would be fine and I didn’t feel necessary, he had a great amount of knowledge regarding solid hardwood flooring, which made me very comfortable. I had four guys come in and give me an estimate. , he had a great amount of knowledge regarding solid hardwood flooring, which made me very comfortable. I had four guys come in and give me an estimate and they were all over the place. The three that were the most expensive that actually made sense was put Rigo right in the middle, but he seemed to know more than the other two guys , even though their companies have been around for the last seven or eight years. RIGO came from a company that had been around for 35 years and he worked there for about 17 years off and on. He asked for a deposit for the word and I’m always hesitant about doing that but knowing the expensive things today , I wrote them a check and he had the wood out on the job site within two days so it could acclimate for two weeks even though the new NWFA rules state that the Wood only has to stay for one or two days. But ultimately the national floor association said it was up to the installer , we live about 5 to 10 miles from the ocean so we were happy to hear that he was going to let the wood acclimate and then after they install it it would acclimate again (3weeks)before they come back and refinish it installation nice and smooth put Sheets thin plywood down, glued and screwed it down and then they took the sanding machine and went over the edges to make sure everything was flat. It was quite impressive. Then they coated the subfloor with a moisture barrier. This was some special moisture barrier made by the wood manufacturers. It Hass to do with perm ratings? Without getting technical because I didn’t fully understand it old plywood and old wood floors carry a lot of moisture so this moisture barrier stops that moisture but allows just enough to come through to keep the wood floor and the plywood acclimated at the same level. I think I got that right you’ll have to ask him. So I was really impressed with the detail that went into the preparation before my wood floor was installed. The other two companies were going to level it with the concrete mixture that they would nail through and I was not comfortable with that at all And they were going to install it the same day!? That Wood arrived which really made me comfortable if it was a small job sure this was 1560 ft.² my whole house I wanted it done right. After the wood was installed. There were these lines down the floor they look like cracks, but what it was , I think he called it a penny line it’s put there so the floor can expand contract any he showed me around the edges and they had the same thing. There was a gap there so that Wood could move during the season. My contractors came in and covered up the floor and did their work and then they rolled up their paper and ram board and left almost all of the Penny lines were gone. The floor had expanded getting rid of most of them I asked about the rest and RIGO said don’t worry we’ll take care of it. I was really interested in the sand sand is the hardest part to me. It’s the most important part. I want my color and I wanted to be my specific color! RIGO spent about an hour working with me on colors . We finally picked a color that I wanted. A medium between what I want and what I’m gonna get. Anyway he applied urethane to it so I could see what it look like. I picked the hardest urethane there is it’s called Traffic HD and I did a lot of research on it. It’s by Bona, the color was beautiful. They did one strip and let me see it first and then they laid the rest of the color down explaining to me how it would look darker in some light and lighter in some light. The floor came out beautiful. There was flat and clean. There was a couple of little nips here and there like sharp little pieces. I thought it was sand on the floor or something, and RIGO came in and took care of that just needed a light hand sand in front of the refrigerator And put some urethane down. He said not to worry about the rest. It’ll naturally if there’s something that bothered me I could call. I did call. There is a small spot next to where my TV went that I looked at every day lol. So I called him and told him about it and he said no problem he came over And he mixed up a small amount and coated a little spot and that was it. It was the day it was beautiful. I was really happy with the service and the communication. I would definitely use them again and when it comes time to put a fresh coat on my floor, he’ll be the first guy I call! They also did new baseboards all the way around. And what was nice is RIGO spray to coat of paint on them first I picked the color and bought him the paint and after he was done with the installation, I went around and touched the spots and touched up the corners, anywhere there was caulking I had to touch up paint. I had to repaint the bottom and around every door jam, even though they put tape on it the tape pull some of the paint off and some of the urethane and stain mostly the stain wicked up underneath the tape I was told that that was to be expected. Do you know when you start painting in your house and you do new floors you start painting walls I ended up painting the whole inside of the house because the floors were so beautiful. It made everything look old and dirty lol. Sincerely, Jill & Joe S."
