"So here's the thing: I'm picky. Not normal picky. OCD-level picky with psychosis-level picky layered on top. I also have very specific tastes. For instance, I prefer huge, large format tile over regular size tile. Even if that means it's three times more difficult to put up on the walls. All the way to the ceiling. With a 1/16th grout gap. Not 1/8th, 1/16th! Anyway, when I decided to undergo a major remodel of my home, I knew whichever contractor I chose would have their work cut out for them. Enter Edian and Alexis Home Remodeling. Edian is a straight talking, candid man who speaks his mind. The kind of guy who could trigger the more sensitive among us. Fortunately, that's not me. After we both got to know each other, we both realized the end result is what mattered most. The main focuses of the project were a gut remodel of the kitchen, transforming an upstairs bonus room into a bathroom, and structural work on the upstairs principal bedroom to raise the interior dormer entrance heights and reinforce the roof. It was all done with a high level of professionalism and quality, even when the inevitable surprises popped up (eg. the previous owner put down the old kitchen floor tile with plain old cement, which required days of jackhammering). Sure, Edian questioned some of my design choices ("who tiles all four walls of the kitchen?"), but in the end, the results are stunning. It took longer than either of us expected, partly because of the "surprises," partly because of my pickiness, and partly because adding a secret door in the kitchen isn't as simple as it sounds. "Billy and his friend did a great job. They are professional, punctual, honest and do a good finish carpentry. additional positives are- Billy picked the moulding from the store , that was really convenient and they also give suggestions, if you are not sure like us that you are picking right moulding.
I wish our ceiling was little more flat, so that the joints in the crown were less visible, but they tried their best. Also a minor point but important that if you are doing something like us- putting crown and chair rail that will need painting, get it coordinated between the wood guy and the painter. I mean wood guy and the painter should talk and work together, rather independently.

"Tighe was incredible. The first thing you notice is his attention to detail and his consistent demeanor which makes him a great person to work with on so many levels. We approached Tighe about our kitchen/attached bath remodel in our 100-year-old home and he did not bat an eye about some pretty significant changes that we wanted to make (moving windows, moving a closet and rearranging some of the other walled spaces ON TOP of the normal kitchen fun). The job was also complicated by lead time issues from some of our vendors but Tighe was able to roll with the punches extremely well. His subcontractors are also great and we get compliments on our backsplash tile every time someone sees our new kitchen.
