"David and his crew did an excellent job repairing the concrete and brick work at my house. The concrete porch was old, hard and thick and was very difficult to remove. The finished results were great. David is not the lowest price company you'll find, but the value and finish you need when doing something as permanent as concrete is important. So paying a little more is well worth the investment. In addition, David is a great communicator and utilized text and phone calls to keep me informed on who, want and when things would be happening at my house. I would definitely use his company again the next time I need this type of service."

"Mario was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was very neat and made sure to clean up each evening when he was done. He was very professional the whole time. Several times my kids commented about how nice he was to them. And my dog and cat enjoyed the treats he gave them. I would definitely hire him again for any of our painting needs!!!"

"I got three estimates and ‘58 Foundation was by far the best. They explained all my options and worked within my budget. I needed foundation repair in specific areas under a load bearing wall and around my front door. They showed up on time. The foreman, Cam, kept me informed on the process. He along with the crewmen, Jordan and Keylin were courteous and professional and left the work area even cleaner than they found it. My house is over 100 yrs old and when I walk around now, the floors feel very solid."

"<p>Did work as quickly as the weather would allow.  Kept us up to date with emails and pictures.  We live 300 miles away from where he did the work, but we felt like we knew exactly what was going on and how things were progressing.  </p> <p>We were installing a steel work building and because the weather was so bad, they shipped the materials before the pad could be poured.  Eddy and his crew came and helped us unload the building.  I don't know what I would have done if he hadn't helped me.</p> <p>He and his crew even stayed until 5:00 am to do the finishing work on the concrete because the weather was cold and the concrete couldn't set up.  If the weather had been warm, he could have finished before dark the night before.  </p> <p>Helped layout the driveway and pad even before we accepted his bid.    </p> <p>He met with us to follow up and made sure his work was good.  When it comes to concrete he knows what his is doing.</p> <br />"

"Chris came and measured the driveway and provided us with an estimate. After securing several bids, we chose Innovative Contractors, LLC. On the designated date, Chris and his crew arrived. After laying out the equipment, the demolition began. Well into the process, it was apparent we had an unusual driveway that was the exception to the rule. Instead of the usual 4 inches. the driveway depth ranged from 8 inches to 2 feet. It was a mess under there. They removed the demolition material, graded the under surface, covered the under-surface with a geothermal concrete blanket, made sure the new driveway will have the proper slant correcting a major problem the old driveway had. They filled the driveway with gravel. Here their progress was hindered by major rain occurring over several days. Finally, they got a break and were able to pour. Our neighbors all commented on how hard Chris' crew worked and that the driveway truly was a work of art. At least one of them is obtaining a quote from Chris. <br /> Chris and his crew were very professional, courteous and congenial. They always answered our questions and even anticipated questions at times. <br /> <br /> <strong>Unfortunately Innovative Contractors do not provide follow-up when a problem arises. Chris has been promising me for 2 years to come back an do a patch and answer some questions as to why the concrete has been cracking and hole appearing. and keeps saying he will come but must attend to another job.</strong>"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Bridgeport, AL

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
