"Matt has done multiple projects for me, including kitchen cabinet refacing, applying new kitchen tile, kitchen floor and all new inside doors. Everything was done timely and with excellence. Matt gave me an estimate and stayed within budget. He arrives on time and cleans up as he works. He is very polite and takes the time to answer questions completely. While he was here for my door replacement, I asked him if he could install a flag on my house, that would require a base built where it attached to the house. He completed it by improvising a beautiful custom wood mount for the flag. I highly recommend Matt for any project you may have."

Small jobs welcome

"After a nightmare dealing with Home Depot, I finally decided to look elsewhere for my time-sensitive project (getting a condo ready for market by a deadline.) So, I decided to go small business. I'll do that from now on! Johnny was great to work with. He came out to estimate the job and left with a completed template. He told us that he could have it done within a week if the laminate we chose was in stock. Well, he did just that! One week later, we had a beautiful countertop installed, in time for the first open house. He promised & he came thru. Not only that, he did such a great job, I had a really hard time finding the seam. All this, and I think it only cost me about $100 more that HD. I HIGHLY recommend Cut Rite."

"Smart Tile was quick to respond to my request to have my granite counter tops cleaned & sealed. We setup a date and time to have the work done. I was called earlier in the day to confirm our appointment. Lorenzo was on time and started working immediately after he took a look at what was needed to be done. He was very courteous, friendly and paid close attention to detail. Lorenzo protected the floors with mats to ensure that the cleaner and sealer would not drip onto the kitchen floor. After he was done, my counter tops looked the same as the day they were installed. He also answered any questions that I had regarding the continued maintenance for my granite counter tops. Lorenzo was professional at all times and I could tell by the way that he worked he is an experienced craftsman. I would definitely use Smart Tile for any granite/tile work that I may need in the future."

"Peter’s crew did a great job and everything turned out exactly how I wanted. There was a lot of rotted wood siding and trim that needed to be replaced and Peter’s carpentry team did a great job with the quality of their work."

"The ceiling fan the kitchen pull switch was no longer working and broke off at a point where it could not be replaced.  On the advice of John, we purchased a new ceiling fan and remote.  John came over with in a few days after purchasing the new fan and installed the fan and universal remote.  He even took the time to patch the kitchen ceiling since the original fan base was larger than the new fan.   My wife loves the remote that he mounted on the wall it makes it easier for her to turn the light on and off and to adjust the fan without having to stand on her toes.
It is always a pleasure to work with John, he is friendly, professional and really cares for his customers.  He is a Super Service Provider for sure.

"They're friendly and easy to get a hold off. They have a really good selection and they're very helpful in picking out the stone. I don't know if it was some sort of a promotion but they gave a kitchen sink for free. They came early today."

"Great. Tyler was very professional, did an excellent job caulking the whole exterior of my house and my apartment building. Fixed the leaks around the chimney, and installed drip edge on the apartment roof. Very reasonable rates, and cleaned up all the work areas. I had him come back and stain my 3 decks, he is very efficient and does a great job. I will definitely use his company again for any projects I have coming up."

FAQs for laminate countertops installation projects in Bridgeport, CT

With the right care and a professional installation, laminate counters last 10 to 15 years. Wipe up spills quickly, clean with a nonabrasive product, and keep hot pots off the surface to prevent warping or scorch marks. Limiting prolonged moisture at seams also pays off. Your installer can walk you through simple maintenance habits that will help you squeeze every year out of your new counters.

Yes—if the existing laminate is solid and level, a pro can bond a fresh sheet right on top. They’ll rough up the old surface, apply the correct adhesive, and make precise cuts so the new layer sits tight. Skipping steps can lead to bubbles or weak seams, so this project is best left to an experienced installer who has the tools to deliver a clean, durable finish.

Absolutely, you can give tired laminate a facelift with paint, tile, or a concrete overlay instead of a full tear-out. The key is thorough prep: clean, degrease, and lightly sand so the new finish sticks.

Follow the product instructions for primer, sealers, and cure times, or hire a pro if you’d rather avoid the mess. When done correctly, these updates freshen the look and add a few more years of useful life.

Mix baking soda with just enough water to form a paste, then spread it over the stain and let it sit for five minutes. Wipe away with a soft, damp cloth—don’t scrub, as abrasives can dull the surface. Repeat if needed. For stubborn marks, ask your installer about cleaners made specifically for laminate.

Laminate isn’t built to battle the elements. Water, UV rays, and temperature swings quickly cause swelling, fading, and mold. Even a covered patio won’t protect the material for long. If you’re planning an outdoor kitchen or bar, skip laminate and choose a weather-tough option like stone, tile, or concrete so you don’t end up replacing your counters after the first season.

Traditional laminate isn’t the greenest choice. Most sheets rely on plastics like melamine and can emit trace VOCs over time. They also can’t be recycled at the end of their life. A few brands now use recycled pulp cores, but plastics still make up much of the product.

If sustainability tops your list, consider natural or recyclable materials such as solid wood, stone, or recycled glass instead.
