"I recently hired Local Boyz to break up my existing concrete patio which was pitched towards my house and not the best looking. First when I had Bill come to my house for an estimate, he was very knowledgeable and I could tell that he had lots of experience. His father, also named Bill works with him and the both of them have an insane amount of experience. Bill senior even used to teach masonry so you know that theyâ re pros. Bill and his team were very patient with me as I altered the final plans multiple times. Their end goal was to just make me happy which they did. I now have a large patio with a custom bump out for a fire pit that I installed, along with a nice sawcut and stained border that gave my patio a great decorative touch. They were always on schedule, professional, and affordable!!"

"I reached out to AG Construction on a Friday evening because I needed the work done quickly. My wife was about to give birth to our twin daughters in an emergency C-section and I needed my old, decaying front steps replaced so I could keep my growing family safe. I was able to get a quote for my project the very same day. Alex and his team did an excellent job. In addition to new concrete front steps, I now have new vinyl-aluminum railing on all sides of my house, tasteful solar lights to go with that railing, new concrete walkways for the front of my house, and a box to shelter my packages from the elements. I highly recommend AG construction for their prompt, professional, and highly skilled work. I will certainly be going back to them for future projects."

"As someone else said, they showed up and finished the job before other quotes came in. They leveled out a cracked concrete apron that was split into two levels and handled an unexpectedly challenging concrete removal."

"I would highly recommend Procrete. They are a hard working family business. They were efficient and pleasant to deal with. The work was high quality for a reasonable price. The start date changed a few times due to weather conditions but they called and updated me each time and were there when they said. I'm one of those people that usually finds something wrong with everything, but can't say enough about The great experience we had and the awesome patio I have. Thanks Procrete"

"This was my second time using A-List Concrete. The outstanding work they accomplished replacing damaged sidewalk sections at my old home made this a no-brainer decision. Ron and his Team did another AMAZING job replacing the damaged concrete walkway at my new home. The workmanship is top-notch and the price was very reasonable. I was really impressed (again) by their attention to detail, including the clean-up. They even carefully replaced the sod pieces on my lawn, in addition to ensuring that my lawn and adjacent driveway was completely clean after the job. I give A-List Concrete my HIGHEST recommendation for ANY concrete work you may need in the South Jersey area."

"They came and inspected the basement and crawl space for us. Gave a full report on the status and made recommendations for a dehumidifier to solve the dampness issue in the house. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Brigantine, NJ

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
