We had 5 different companies come out for quotes and Jeff's thorough, no-nonsense explanation of fence types and prices made it an easy choice. When we decided to switch a portion of the fence from picket to picket w/ cap-board, I called Karen expecting the quote to be more expensive but she and Jeff said they could do it for the same price. Despite being told it was a two week wait, I got a call from Karen that they could install it the same week. When the job was done, one worker insisted on grabbing a tool and coming back an hour later to remove a very stubborn old fence post. This level of detail and craftsmanship is hard to find nowadays. "Talked to six fencing people in the end but glad I landed on Lions. Was first going with well-reviewed company closer, and then when they were hard to reach and get on site I went with a "cedar expert" in fencing. A lot of quotes later was getting frustrated. Lions didn't try to push me to different wood or plank sizes based on their inventory (two others did) but gave me their best estimate based on what I wanted. I didn't have the responsiveness issues others had; Richard didn't always answer right away but got back to me the same day and was on time for his appointments. A cold snap (weather) delayed the actual installation by a day - they were late in wrapping the previous job, but since I wasn't in a hurry it was no problem. Lions could have let me know the day before (my only complaint) I took off work. However, once on site, he'd added a +1 to his team to ensure the work got done on schedule, and his foreman (Walter) made sure the work was done right. Walter actually came back the next day on his own to power was the trellis which he thought was dirty but I wouldn't have seen. I would definitely hire again and recommend. The price is for STK cedar (not clear) and other preferences of mine also affected the price per linear foot, but you can trust Richard to give you a good deal. I would ensure at time of estimate to confirm how deep the post holes go and ask for more proactive notice in the event of delay, but otherwise the price and quality are superb."

"While we initially went in for their free consultation to have a pavilion with fire place and stone work, they pitched a landscape plan for our entire property. We loved their design plan and they worked with us very well. Bill is a great guy and pleasure to work with. While we had a few quotes from other contractors, we chose Sharper Cuts. Overall work performed was very good. We had some concerns with grouting not filling pavers completely, but they came back to take care of this issue. Still, areas were still not done. Some of the flagstone tops used were not high quality with rust prevalent. Perhaps their supplier was the issue. They replaced inferior slabs. Plantings were good, but not great with some plants dying and needed replacing. Mulching was scantily done and we ended up spending close to $800 purchasing bulk mulch and laying more down ourselves. THE MAJOR problem we had was the damage done to our lawn along the path they used to drive the heavy machinery (like a Bobcat). They reseeded the area, but the ground was so compacted it didn't take. They came back and loosened the soil and re-seeded again. Much better but we still have a wide and long area where the ground is lower than the surrounding area due to the compaction. Kind of got tired asking for more work to be done. So, overall they are a very good contractor that strived to make things right. The reason for a "B" grade is the fact that issues should be addressed the right way the first time and not in a manner that patches the issue resulting in the customer having to call them back again. Still, they did respond promptly and did not avoid the issues. That is a BIG plus with any contractor. Perhaps they are trying to grow to big too fast and simply did not put the effort in to resolve the issues correctly the first time. Still, I think they are honestly trying their best and this may be a learning curve. We are thankful for their willingness to try to resolve issues despite still having issues outstanding."

"Bini was very responsive to the request for visiting the property and providing a quote for the required work.  He also provided quotes for future work so that I may budge/plan.  After agreeing on the design, price and signing the contract, Bini stated that the new gate would ready for installation in one week.  The gate was ready for installation as promised and we scheduled all the work to be done on Saturday.  He also painted the new gate to exactly match the french door by using the manufacturer's paint.     <br /> Note:  Make sure to check all installation and repairs prior to Bini Ironwork employees leaving the job site since I called them back on-site three times to make corrections/repairs..  After installtion, chaning the locks, and repairing the railing, Bini Ironwork employees started packing up all their equipment as it appeared they were finished.  I discovered one lock was not "keyed" to match the others and I was told by one employee (not Bini) that I was to receive different keys for each lock - not according to the contract - Bini arrived and quickly corrected this.  After changing the front gate dead-bolt lock which was now in a slightly different position, the gate no longer was able to lock. I called them back to correct this since they had packed up their tools. They knotched a new hole in the old exterior wood around the security gate for the dead-bolt.  Knowly the thin strip of wood around the dead-bolt could easily be ripped apart, I called them back again (since they had packed up their tools) to include a metal strike plate.    Bini was very responsive to each request and provided instructions to his employees.  He came back the following Thursday to add additional cement for securing the front railing and to make repairs needed to allow the installed basement gate deadbolt to lock. <br /> Considering Bini's responsiveness to my requests, I would hire him again for additional iron work. <br />"
