"Ours was a refinish the stairs project after we had pulled carpeting. Repaired the damage, sanded and refinished, and even were able to modify the stain to more closely match our flooring. Super job by a very efficient and polite staff. Price was well within our budget. Glad we hired them."

Customers say: Quality work

"We hired Numitor LLC to give our house a facelift as we wanted to sell it. Frank and his crew refinished our hardwood floors, painted and patched the walls, repaired and replaced a couple of windows and repaired and painted doors. We are highly satisfied with the result and Frank was always very attuned to our needs and requests. The whole crew of Numitor was reliable, on time and they always went the extra mile to get things done. The quality of the work exceeded our expectations and was executed in a very professional manner. We would highly recommend Numitor LLC and appreciate the personalized customer service Frank offered."

"I was very impressed with David's responsiveness and every member of his crew was a pleasure. They completely removed the kitchen floor (and several layers of subfloor) in my 100+ year-old home, made repairs to floor joists and installed new flooring that looks beautiful. It was an evolving project and I appreciated the team's flexibility and speed with which they completed the project."

"I can't say enough about Adriano and his team. They refinished and brought back to life an entire house of wood flooring, some of which had been badly stained. When we arrived home after four days, we were amazed to see how exceptionally beautiful and lustrous the floors were! Adriano made sure that all debris was removed and that most of the dust from the refinisher machine was cleaned up when they completed the job (Note: He did warn us that there would be a layer of fine dust in every room that required sanding. Even though the team put up a plastic barrier between the kitchen and dining room, all the kitchen surfaces were covered with a layer of fine dust, but it was expected and cleaned up easily). In short, if you are looking for a professional floor refinisher who will go above and beyond to meet their customer's expectations, then look no further than ACS Wood Floors: they take pride in their craft and will not disappoint."

FAQs for wood flooring refinish projects in Broad Brook, CT

Rental sanders can address moderate surface damage, but their effectiveness depends on scratch depth and overall floor condition. Drum sanders offer the most aggressive removal capability for deeper imperfections. However, if the damage extends into the wood structure or affects large portions of the floor, board replacement by an expert might be necessary before sanding. Consult a flooring professional for help.

Always thoroughly review the manufacturer's operating instructions before starting. Wear appropriate safety gear, including goggles to protect your eyes and a respirator to prevent inhalation of dust. Inspect electrical components before each use to prevent shock hazards. Keep children and pets away from the work area, and maintain a clean space by frequently vacuuming dust accumulation to prevent slipping and to ensure you can see well.

Sandpaper requirements depend on floor size, condition, and the sanding approach. Plan to use multiple grit levels (coarse, medium, and fine) with at least one to two sheets per 100 square feet for each grit. Floors with significant damage or multiple finish layers will require more coarse-grit sheets. Purchase extra supplies before beginning because running out mid-project can cause visible inconsistencies in the final result.
