"My experience with them has been very good. Some companies have a regular program like before winter, they come and change filters or do some of those things but this company doesn't have any such program. They come fore service calls when you call them and otherwise they don't. I have not had any need for them to come to my house. Their prices were reasonable- I did shop around to see what other people would charge me and they were pretty good."

"Great job well executed. These are very high quality professionals capable of diagnosing root causes of your problem, digging out the construction code and educating you on the right thing to do. You can hire cheaper handyman/chimney guys and get a recurring problem or you can hire these licensed professionals and take care of things the right way. Wish I had never used anyone else!"

"The serviceman arrived slightly early. He was pleasant. He checked out the furnace and filled out the necessary paperwork with me providing my DTE account number where all I had to do is sign it. He then took paperwork back to his office where they will send it out to DTE so that I can get a $50 rebate on the furnace cleaning (while the money for these rebates hold out). Obviously I had to pay the entire $59.99 up front. I will get the $50 rebate check directly from DTE in about 8-10 weeks. The office was very honest in admitting that while DTE says 4-6 weeks, it actually usually takes the 8-10 weeks. I found that helpful so I'm not waiting for something to way before it really will. The serviceman then called the next day and asked to come back to double check something. It was completely at MY convenience. He again arrived promptly. It took about 2 minutes and he was on his way again. He did offer upgrades on filters but was not pushy about it. <br /> I was pleased. I called them as a friend of mine recommended them having used them before. I was not disappointed. <br /> <br />"

"I am the son-in-law from out of town.  My 85 year old mother-in-law was having some trouble with her back that put her in the hospital for a couple of days, so while she was out of the house I wanted to get her a taller toilet to help with her back.  I got to Ludington about 9:00 in the morning and picked out a toilet at Home Depot.  The helpful lady at the Home Depot desk gave me the number for Scholten's Plumbing as someone that she would recommend.  I called and left Scholten's Plumbing a message about 10:00 AM and they called me back around 2:00 PM.  After explaining my situation they had a man at my mother-in-laws house in 30 minutes.  Walter, the plumber who came to the house, was very polite and professional.  He had the new toilet in, the old toilet out of the house and was all done in about an hour.  The job was done the same day I called, ready for my mother-in-law when she came home, beautifully done and on very short notice.  I can't thank Scholten Plumbing enough and I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing plumbing work done. <br />"

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Brohman, MI

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
