"First time homeowner...with a bit of a fixer upper. The exterior was sad & old & in desperate need of a new paint job.I did A LOT of research on this project & companies. Dave stood out & as soon as I met him I knew he was the one for the job! He is punctual, makes you feel comfortable & takes pride in his work! He was so patient with me & made me feel at ease with the decisions I made for this project. His communication is excellent & goes above & beyond for his customers. He even (last min request) painted our eye soar of a shed at no extra cost & even offered to come back to hang our new shutters when they arrive even though days/weeks after he finished painting our house!He is honest, sincere, quick & neat worker. I'll be referring him to everyone! I'll be calling him for any future projects we decide to do!!! He makes you feel like your the only client & it's all about you! "We had a terrible experience with another contractor who had left us high and dry and with a massive sanitation and safety hazard on our hands. Paul and his team were able to swiftly come in and address all problems as well as highlight design/layout choices made by the previous contractors that simply didn't make sense. They repaired items that had been damaged by the previous crew, swiftly got the remodel completed, and did so all while acting in a professional and courteous manner. The price was fair for the work and both Paul and his foreman checked in repeatedly over the next few weeks after completion of the remodel to ensure that everything was still in good condition, that we were still happy with the work, and to ensure there was nothing that we failed to think of or get addressed during the project. We would absolutely hire Paul and his crew for subsequent work in the future."

"A dog sitter we should have never trusted started a small fire in our kitchen while we were away and caused a lot of damage. The insurance company estimated the damages and made a proposal. I’ve reached out to LHI, who I found here on Angie’s and had them come out and do an estimate. I was concerned that the money insurance company offered may not be enough. I let the estimator know the amount the insurance company offered and he said that they will make it work. I figured I will also ask for an estimate to repaint the remainder of our home since we are already redoing the kitchen and the dining room. I felt they were very reasonable in their pricing and I decided to let them do an entire house. They did a very good job and had we had any other painting work, I would not hesitate to hire them. In the meantime, I will recommend them to anyone looking for a fire damage restoration or painting."

"I had a leak upstairs in my 2nd floor bathroom which in turn ruined most of my first floor ceiling and floors. It was stressful and I was not sure what to do first despite my insurance covering the damages. Trying to find the right people was very difficult. "When we first met with John to give us an estimate we were very happy with him because of his professionalism and promptness in answering our questions and getting back to us with the estimate. When Jesse came out the first day to view the job and to get his crew started we had a pretty good feeling that we had made the right choice in going with them, but after this our experience started to go down hill. The first day of the job was a Wednesday, the crew showed up promptly at 8 am. Thursday the crew showed up at around noon and explained that the truck they normally use had to be taken in for some kind of service so it took them a while to get a rental. Ok not a big deal at least they worked around the problem and made a good faith effort to come and do the work. On Friday no one was here at 8 am and we received a call from the office manager saying that because of the main vehicle being serviced no one would be out that day to work, as you can imagine this did not make our day, considering the day prior a rental was used. We had a chance to talk with the owner who explained that because of the weight of the stone and equipment to be used that day the rental was not an appropriate vehicle to handle the load. I suggested renting two vehicles, but at this point it was early afternoon and realistically too late in the day for any work to be done. The owner said the crew would be back out Monday to finish up the job. On Monday we had about two inches of snow from a snow shower the previous night, so I removed the snow from the driveway early in the morning for the crew to bring their van up and walk safely. At noon I gave the office a call and again was told the crew would not be out to work. To be Honest I was pretty ticked off. On Tuesday the crew showed up and began work again, about half way through the day I realized the noise coming from the basement had gotten louder. When the crew left I took a look around the basement and realized there was a hole drilled into an interior wall. I didn't think this made sense so I went upstairs and found that the hole was drilled through our library wall into the floor molding just missing my girlfriends $9,000 piano. I called Jesse and explained my frustration, not only had the job taken longer than originally expected, but now someone is drilling into interior walls and by luck that's all that happened. I expressed to Jesse that this whole experience was becoming a real nightmare and asked him to discount a little off the final price. At this point he asked if that was why I had been complaining so much, in hopes he would give us a discount... No, I was complaining because the quality of the work being done was poor, the job was taking longer than anticipated causing me to take off from work, and someone drilled an area inappropriately causing damage. He stated there would be no discounts, and he would have someone come and fix the mistake, and I didn't need to take off from work, just to make the work area accessible. There was no way I was leaving his crew alone in my home, I found that to be pretty funny all things considered. On Wednesday the job was finished and I was happy to have the work done. It has been about 7 months now and the only good thing I can say about the work is that our basement has been much more dry, for this we are thankful. I will say that if the work had been done in the summer the delay caused by the snow would not have happened, so timing did play a part in that. However, overall we would not recommend this company do work for anyone we know. Maybe my expectations were too high, maybe I was unrealistic in what I thought should happen. I look forward to Comfort Basement sharing their side of the story so that a full and accurate picture may be given of this experience.
