"The job was fairly straightforward and I had already procured the sink and most of the additional supplies but the job required some replumbing of both the water supply and drain. The master plumber worked efficiently and professionally and the job was completed in a few hours. The cost was determined from a standard table in a notebook but does not take into account the complexity of the job or whether materials are supplied by owner. Since I supplied most of the materials (plumber supplied valves and pipe and drain fittings) the price seemed rather high for around 3 hours work. However, I've had no professional plumbing work done recently and thus have nothing to compare it to. The plumber was very pleasant and professional and the work of high quality. I have no other complaints."

"They were extremely responsive and professional. Someone was dispatched to my home within 24 hours. He accurately diagnosed the problem - that the condensate pump had failed and needed to be replaced. He offered to replace it immediately because he had the part on his truck. The price quote ranged from $1350-$2100 depending on length of warranty I preferred. This seemed extremely high because I had the part replaced once before 3-4 years ago by another company for approx $400. I mentioned that to the installer; he indicated that the price was the price and he was sorry he couldn’t lower it. I found the identical pump online for prices ranging from $35-$75! It looked like an easy swap, so instead of paying Rodenhiser, I ordered the part from Amazon, received it the next day. I have zero experience or training and was able to swap it and fix the problem in literally 10 minutes. I understand that service companies need to charge for labor and mark up parts costs, but a repair I could do in 10 mins for under $50 should not have carried a $1350+ price tag! This was very disappointing, and I will not use them again."

"My newly purchased condo had a water heater that was nearing its end. Rusty water came out when the faucet was set to hot water only. I called 3 places to get quotes. Because the previous water heater was missing its model number, none of the services felt good about giving a quote over the phone. They wanted to know what the previous model was. One of the plumbers suggest I measure the water heater myself. Consolidated was the only one to suggest that they come out. Sure, they charged me for 30 minutes - but the plumber was able to get a detailed look at the job and survey the fixtures in the house in order to give me a recommendation on water heater size. Also, in my town, a plumbing permit is required when replacing the water heater. Only Consolidated P&H specifically told me that I needed one. The other plumbers said you don't really need one. In fact, none of them mentioned it until I asked. It is certainly more convenient to the plumber and cheaper to me if I don't get the permit, but probably not legal nor a good idea. Who would verify that the water heater installation was done properly? My point here is that Consolidated's plumber are honest and do things right. The installation was slightly complicated by the fact that plumbing code is constantly changing . There are specific clearance requirements for venting. Mitch gave me the full picture of what might need to happen to the venting. In the end, the existing venting was sufficient and passed inspection, but I was happy to learn about the issue. Mitch was very detailed in his explanation of the venting requirements. Overall, I am very pleased with the service offered by Consolidated. Yes, they cost a little bit more than some of the other plumbers, but I felt that the plumber cared about my specific situation. He also was very responsive via e-mail. He also answered all my questions without being condescending. No question I asked was deemed to be too stupid. If you want an honest, transparent plumber, you should consider Consolidated P&H."
