"Charles Green and his employees were top notch. Our ceiling was uneven with patched paint and irregularities where the beams lay behind the drywall. Mr. Green showed up to look at the ceiling and give an estimate the day after we called him, and he offered to start work the following day. Throughout the process, Mr. Green was professional, patient, competent, trustworthy, and thorough. He educated us about what he would be doing, answered all of our (admittedly ignorant) questions about mudding and drywall, and even accelerated the project to finish earlier than planned when we realized our movers would be arriving a day earlier than expected. It is worth noting that because we were living elsewhere at the time, we entrusted Mr. Green and his company with the keys to our home because we felt confident we were in good hands. "Eddie came out and gave an estimate. He was professional and personable and set a date and time for the following week to do the job. Due to other (larger) work obligations, Eddie wasn't able to keep the appointment. However, he sent his son, who was just as professional and personable! The job was completed without any issues. I was impressed (and grateful) that Eddie didn't put me on the back burner and reschedule because it was such a small job. This malady in my floor was preventing me from installing hardwood flooring so I am very happy it is done!

"J&E Contracting was great! We've hired painters before, for the second floor, and it didn't go nearly as well. One service was good, though the other service was messy. J&E Contracting did an amazing job! The work was consistent throughout also. I would not only use them again, but I wouldn't go anywhere else now. A great company is hard to find. They were detail-oriented, very hard-working, on time, and polite. They did not work slow, which contractors sometimes do when paid hourly. They worked fast, but efficient and very neat. There were no messes at all. They also did some drywall repair on a few areas of the ceiling (the electrician had to cut a few holes when he did ceiling lights for us last month). Sanding spackel creates a considerable amount of dust, but J&E covered everything with clear plastic tarps, so there was no mess! Also important, was that they communicated very well before starting anything. The owner was one of the painters, and he made sure we were on the same page with everything first. I'm so happy with the paint job! It looks like a totally different house in the painted rooms!"

"This was partially my mistake, but I ended up paying for a garbage disposal I did not need. Not until the new disposal was installed did the installer test to find out that the problem was not with the disposal itself, but with the wall switch to turn it on. So I spent $299 for a new disposal that I didn't need. It was my mistake, I guess, because I didn't realize that it could be something else and I prepaid for the new disposal. But learn from my mistake...before you pay for something, you should really check and confirm the cause of the problem. Don't assume that the company you hire will do that automatically. I assumed they would clue me in to what else the problem could be or at least ask what the problem was before installing this. Live and learn... Would I hire them again? Yes, but only knowing that I can't assume that they will do the diagnosis prior to repair or replace. Also, when they called to confirm the appointment, the man who called told me there would be an additional dispatch fee...when i told him that the service was portrayed as all inclusive on Angie's List, and to talk to the owner...he came back and told me they would wave the fee. So again, the customer must really be on his/her toes and object to hidden fees."

"Claude arrived punctually for every part of the process.  He arrived 10 minutes early for the quote session, and asked the right questions to make sure he would give us the best quote.  He brush/roller paints everything by hand (no sprayers) and is very meticulous.  It took him about 1-1/2 days to do our entire living area/entry way/staircase and trim/moulding.  He was on time and cleaned up well each visit.  He is also a delightful person to deal with, is honest, fair on pricing, and won't try to pressure you into anything. He did an outstanding job, and all of our guests who have visited since his painting job have admired his work.  We plan to use Claude in the future on all our interior home painting projects.
The one thing that Claude does ask on exterior painting is that the customer should do any wood damage replacement themselves or ask another contractor to do that part.  He specializes in painting, and this was the reason we ultimately decided not to have him paint the exterior, as we were looking for an outfit who could do both wood work and painting on the exterior--less hassle for us.  I wouldn't really say that is a "down side" to Poli Paint, it is just something to consider if you're looking to have an exterior paint job done on an older home.  As I said, he hand paints everything on both interior and exterior--This is actually one thing I really liked about his proposal on the exterior even though it did not include wood work--He quoted us to hand paint with two coats all the siding, which would ensure a thicker, longer lasting coat of paint.  The painter we ended up selecting for the exterior, and all the other contractors who quoted us for exterior painting planned to paint the siding, gutters and soffits with a sprayer.
