"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"I had a question about microwave repair. He answered all my questions and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately new parts are no longer available for model in question. He gave me part # if I wanted to call around for a used part somewhere. Got lots of good info."

"Value Appliance was excellent!! Immediate, full resolution of our problem the first time they came out. And their appointment setting and communication system is very thorough and convenient. The repair tech was very professional and capable. <br /> We'd had another provider (A-1 Appliance) out to fix the problem. The tech said he'd get back to me with an estimate to fix it. Nearly three weeks later I had to call them just to be told it would cost $1,000 to replace the two burners/ignitors and that they would have to order the knob. I said forget the burners just order the knob. He claimed I would incur another service charge when he brought the knob out to "install" it. I told him I would just pick it up once it came in. Another three weeks go by so I call them back and they have no info on the status of the knob and said they would call back. That was last week - I haven't heard from them. <br /> By comparison, I contacted Value Appliance on a Monday and within three days the tech came out, resolved the problem and promised to drop the knob off early next week once it arrives. That whole process will take only a week. <br /> Another important note: I have since learned that Value Appliance is the only repair operation certified by Viking in the Sacramento area. A-1 and possibly others are misrepresenting their expertise. Make sure you call a certified, qualified repair company!! <br />"

"Excellent service! The technician arrived on time, quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. Over the years, I've had several home appliance warranty companies. Without question, Complete Appliance Protection is the best one I've ever contracted with. Their monthly price is a little higher than most, but I do have their best protection plan with $0 deductible. You get what you pay for..."

"I got the parts I ordered, they were packaged very well and Ashley was an absolute gem to deal with. I had an issue with my parts I received and she jumped right on the matter and resolved it immediately. I am completely happy with this company and will definitely use them again for any parts needed on any of my appliances. Completely professional, courteous and thorough!"

"Our home was a difficult job due to the odd-shaped small area under the house where the line needed to be installed.  They did an amazing job, clean, professional and it works great.  Gina and her crew provided superior professionalism and we were 100% happy with the service....highly recommend them! <br />"

Lowe's

"The quality has been fine as far as the workmanship is concerned. The problem I had was that, they had initially said that it would take two weeks before the windows could be received, but the last window was like about two months beyond what they said it was going to be. I don't know whether one of the factors for the delay was because we had ordered it after Christmas, but it did seem like it took so long for them to get the windows. There were also a couple of times when the wrong window was received, and then we had to wait for another two weeks. I just felt that it was too long of a time to have to deal with that. Another thing that was kind of infuriating is that, even though they have people assigned to various departments in the store, you end up spending so much time there, either waiting for help or because the whole process is time consuming. We had contacted Lowe's in October and ordered them by mid-December since we wanted to have them before the rebate ended by the end of the month. The people assigned to the department did not know what the Federal regulations were in terms of whether the windows the windows had to be installed by the end of the year or just ordered by the end of the year. We got mixed, conflicting information on that. I feel that the personnel who work in the departments need to be well-versed on regulations so that they could answer questions that customers may have when it comes to rebates and that sort of thing. Another thing is that, you really don't know when a customer is going to call in with questions. They should have all the information on a computer and it should be accessible and understood by whoever is going to access it when a customer calls in. I didn't have any problem with the installation. The contractor for Lowe's did a really good job. He was very punctual. I was initially planning to go with another company, but I decided to go with Lowe's because the price was so much better. I would probably have chosen a competitor if I had known that it would take such a long time to get the windows. I would have to rethink on whether I want to use Lowe's again for windows."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Browns Valley, CA

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
