"Work performed without any issues or concerns. Communication was good before, during and after. Because water lines would be visible under the sink, offered to install nicer looking chrome pipes which look great. Nice job overall, I will hire again."

"Very pleased with the prompt and professional service. Todd did a nice repair of the main sewage pipe and explained the recommended repair. New water heater is great. No mess for me to clean up after either!"

"Hoagland Plumbing provided extraordinary service from scheduling through estimate through service. <br /> Jake arrived for the estimate perfectly on time, was respectful and helpful and suggested good solutions, was positive about decisions we had already made, and represented the character of Hoagland Plumbing in a way that proved to be wholly in keeping with Dana's service. <br /> Dana arrived for the service appointment perfectly on time. He did a beautiful job on each part of the work he did, and left our house in vastly better plumbing condition than he found it. He was professional, thorough, and excellent. Serious, unexpected complications arose, and he dealt with them calmly, compassionately, and generously. <br /> It would be impossible for us to praise this company too highly. These are trustworthy, reliable, good people, and we will gladly and gratefully ask for their service again when a need arises. <br />"

"They cut the wall very carefully to access the pipes and installed an exact replacement unit.  This solved the leaking fixture problem and the frozen vavle in the wall.  We avoided having to re-tile the shower. <br /> Clean-up was very good including covering the hole in the wall and allowing  future access. <br /> Dudah is my go-to plumber for all our plumbing problems. <br /> <br />"

"This business is a class act from the minute you enter their shop. My cleaner's brushes quit spinning when they touched the carpet. When I came into a the shop on a Sunday afternoon they were very busy and yet apologized to me for not being able to start examining and or repairing it immediately. I left it and received a call promptly Monday morning, explaining in detail what needed to be done and what it would cost. The entire brush assembly had to be replaced but I was told my brushes would go a while longer. I know they were trying to save me money at every turn. When I picked it up I was shown the damaged piece and received a detailed explanation of how he tried but was unable to repair the faulty unit. There was never an effort to encourage me to purchase new. I was grateful because as I told him and he agreed, these older models were built to last. <br />"

"The next day, I noticed a leak at the T at the shut off valve for our bidet seat. I called him and he said "yeah, I noticed that, too". I asked him to come back to fix it. He came back (no extra charge) and he tightened the best he could but it still leaks. He said I would need to order a new T-joint from the bidet maker and he could install it for an extra fee."

"The construction season was off to a late start due to a late spring. I was originally referred to other companies - many of whom didn't even bother to return my call. I called Mork Well and they actually answered the phone. I also had a bid for the work in very short order. I had the pleasure of working with Jodi and Ron who were both very helpful. Due to a small lot size and many setback requirements, we had no legal options for installing a new well. Ron worked closely with the state Department of Health to coordinate a variance so the new well could be installed. I would highly recommend Mork Well and would use them again without hesitation. Only one minor suggestion for Mork would be to better describe the condition the yard may be in after the well is drilled. They did disclose there would be damage, which I expected. Rutting and damage will happen when you run a drilling rig, which probably weights 12k pounds, across the yard. However, with this being the first well construction I've needed, I didn't realize what a mess is caused by the drilled materials. This is just part of the normal well drilling process and has nothing to do with how Mork performs their work. It would have just been another "value add" to prepare me for the mess well drilling causes."

"I spoke with Jim on the phone and he was very informative and friendly. He was able to send (Evan?), out the same day to take a look. Evan was able to determine very quickly the plumbing to the sink was satisfactory and the issue was more than likely the faucet. He offered to take a look at for me but I said I could take it from there. He gave me a few quick tips, such as cleaning/replacing the regulator. Unfortunately, the $5 fix didn't work but I was able to determine the water pressure to the faucet head was satisfactory. I will need to replace the faucet itself. He did not charge me for the trip out. Excellent customer service!"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Brownton, MN

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
