We had a concrete slab replaced in the backyard, retaining walls replaced, an extension to an existing wall, stairs between the walls leading to the back replaced and a large concrete driveway replaced. "In 2013 I was out of town on a trip. My wife called in a panic because water was coming in through a crack in the basement wall. We had lived in the house for 20 years with no issues. Recently we had new sidewalks poured which disrupted the water flow from the house. This caused water to seep back into the foundation. The Leaky Cellar came the next day and provided a fair estimate and repaired. When I returned home I was very pleased with the work, timeliness, and price they charged. A less reputable company could have taken advantage of the situation. Recently we had the annoying water seepage in our stone foundation. The Leaky Cellar proposed various options to address the situation. They recently installed interior drains. The men were very professional and answered all my questions. "We made an appointment with Madalein Odell last year to look over our landscaping and propose up grades.  Our landscaping was approximately 50 years old.  She asked us about our budget limits and our level of interest and experience in gardening activities necessary to maintain new plantings.  Madalein developed a recommendation for replacing our tired juniper bushes with new beds of bushes and perennials.  The recommendation including phasing in the work so the cost could be spread out.  Her estimate including a written description of proposed work, detailed costs, sketches, and printed materials describing the plants in the proposal.

Madalein's workers installed the work with her supervision.  Work was done professionally and punctually.  The plantings were beautiful  Madalein e-mailed us instructions for watering, fertilizing, etc.  She e-mailed us special instructions when the weather was challenging.  She provided us with photographs of our landscaping she had taken before the work, and we were shocked at how really bad it had looked.

When one of the bushes looked ragged due to winter kill, she replaced it.  The rest of the plants are flourishing - demonstrating that they were the right selections for our yard's sun and soil conditions.

I had new floors installed. To be honest, there was a problem with how the upstairs bathroom floor was installed. I was not happy and after they looked at the job, they agreed with me. New materials were ordered and installed perfectly within several weeks. I think that is what impresses me about this company. So many times contractors blow off an older woman. I've been treated so poorly by other companies. Not this company. When there was a problem with that flooring, they wanted to make things right and have me be satisfied. "They did a great job and I'd use them again.  Ultimately, they did what they said they were going to do at the price they promised. The results look great--just what I requested.  From the estimation process through final clean-up, they were conscientious and professional.  It took a few trips, but they got it all done by the requested due date, and they even voluntarily did some proactive regrading/soil-fill where needed to prevent future drainage issues. I've had contractors from over 20 different companies at my house over the last year, and of those 20 there are only 5 that I would call or use again.
