"We were thrilled with the results!! Ilya did an amazing job and would hire him again without hesitation for several reasons. Not only was the work done professionally, but he also called or text each day with start times. Communication is important and I really appreciated that. Each day he kept his supplies organized and contained, covered every surface meticulously so there was as little dust or paint anywhere and cleaned up after work. And, if you're still on the fence on whether to hire him...I have already recommended him to my Mother for some work!! If that isn't a shoe in, I don't know what is! ; )"

"If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I hired JB Deck Restoration to completely replace my old wood deck with a composite deck with vinyl railings. Jon was very professional and kept me informed of the progress and timing, showed up when he said he would and truly went out of his way to accommodate a deadline I had. His pricing was very fair compared to competitors and his crew was very neat and respectful of the property. Jon recommended colors and styles and added a few finishing touches at his own expense showing he takes great pride in his work. His crew worked in the pouring rain, snow and Jon worked over the weekend to ensure he was on schedule. I have never had a more seamless experience with a contractor in my 25 years of owning a home!"

"Summary: The Tri-Town team was very responsive and considerate, providing reliable service and quality materials at a fair price, with timely follow-up to questions/concerns even over 6 months later. Details: Of three companies contacted for this job, Tri-Town's owner (Rick), with the assistance of their courteous office manager (Lori), was the quickest to respond and the best at following up. Both the owner and the job manager (Nick) were very patient in answering my questions about the job design and material options, including the re-use of materials that were in good shape. Given the unknowns of the job (e.g., edge rot, signs of carpenter ants), they provided an estimate that was clear about multiple contingency options. The price was fair - similar to or slightly less than the other quotations. They were willing to adjust the price for work that I could complete myself, and even worked directly with me on installing the new rail posts to ensure I didn't void the new roof warranty. Tri-Town included multiple before and after photos as part of the final invoice/report. Overall, the job was well done. Minor issues and resolution: The roof was first assessed in autumn and Tri-Town was honest in acknowledging that the work should not be done until spring to make sure temperatures were suitable for proper EPDM adhesive setting conditions. We hade to use plastic sheeting and roof patch on the old roof to help prevent further damage during the winter. But we were not forgotten - the office manager called the following spring to get the work scheduled. The work crew was slightly "rough around the edges", but probably not more so than other typical roofing companies. Flicked cigarette butts on the lawn were later picked up. A loud radio was turned down upon request and with an apology. There may be a couple roofing companies in the area that are a bit more refined, but you'll probably pay more for their matching polo shirts. A sub-contractor quickly installed the new gutter, but eye-balled an incorrect (slightly reverse) slope - however, the Tri-Town team fixed the condition within about a week of my call. Several months later, a small leak developed during heavy rains. It was near an upstairs door entry, so it may not have been directly related to Tri-Town work, but they still sent a team within about a week to re-caulk all the edges around the roof and chimney free of charge. Combined with a bit of my own door-step re-caulking, there is no more leak."

"Jeff and his crew were amazing! They worked diligently over an eight day period to remove 18 y.o. wallpaper from 6 offices, and a large medical reception area. Much of the wallpaper removal damaged the underlying wall board which required them to repair and seal it with an oil based paint. Once sealed, they skim coated the walls using three applications, sanded, and primed the walls leaving a very smooth, paint-able surface. They finished by painting all surfaces with two coats of our pre-selected colors using my favorite paint from Sherwin-Williams. They were very flexible with their scheduling and fortunately completed the wall paper removal and smelly, oil-based painting while our office was closed over a three day period. They completed the rest of the work starting at 7 AM until noon each day when we were least busy. They cleaned all areas well before departing each day which allowed us to keep dust to a minimum. Most importantly, at no point did they disrupt our business operations. At all times Jeff and his crew were courteous, flexible, considerate, respectful, and quiet with our administrative staff, our counselors, and most importantly with our patients . They were truly kind with a great attitude and great sense of humor. Significantly, the price was very fair and reasonable for the huge amount of work they completed. We have received compliments from almost every patient who sees the changes for the first time since their last visit. I will certainly use them in future projects, and expect that I will have them do some work in my home in the next year or so. Truly outstanding quality and service."

"Nick came in to do my estimate and was very professional with get competitive pricing. I decided to hire him based off of his pricing and professionalism. Nick came in and installed some drywall and finished it with such precision then painted everything within the same day. Again I cannot stress enough how quick and spot on his work was and that he was the most professional of all the companies I spoke to. I would 100% hire nice again as well as hands down recommend him to all friends and family when they’re looking for work to be done!!!"

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Buffalo, NY

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
