"Mac did an outstanding job replacing our poured concrete sidewalk. He was able to do the work quickly, on budget and the result was outstanding! Mac was great to work with...no problems communicating with him. We wanted to make sure our project was done with minimal impact to our yard and Mac did a great job in that regard. He also cleaned up after the work was done. I would recommend Sullivan Stone (Mac is the owner) without hesitation! We're planning another project for next year and I will definitely reach out to Sullivan Stone to assist us with that as well!"

"Contractor cooperated with  trying to get window installed prior to onset of winter and negotiating a price for a portion of the work to be done in December (window install) with window well installation to follow in spring.  Homeowner provided excavated area for access to foundation. <br /> Crew showed up as scheduled.  Opening  was marked out and then cut free hand with concrete saw.  Concrete was pulled out of opening, jack hammered into small pieces and removed by hand.  Opening was then framed, siliconed, water shield, drilled and screwed to foundation.  When it came time to install window, it was discovered the opening was too small due to an non-square opening.   This required removal of window, pulling off the water shield. hacking and chiseling away a good portion of the framing, reinstall damaged water shield, and reinstalling the window. <br /> After window was fully installed, it was discovered that the windows did not close squarely and  only the bottom window lock would engage easily, but the top one required pushing on one of the sliders in order to lock the top lock.  Also, when the framing was hacked away to gain some extra room to allow setting the window, it was not cut evenly the full depth of the framing.  This ultimately created an obstruction on the inside when it came time to trim out the window. <br /> Long story short - I spent a day removing the window entirely, cutting away framing full depth, supporting sill full length on a flat level sill rather than using and couple shims to support the window and installied window per manufacturers instruction. <br /> I was expecting a more accurate and square concrete cut using a track/rail system that may have prevented many of the these problems.  The concrete opening measurements should have been verified before framing the opening and the window framing checked for square before installing water shield and window.. <br />"

FAQs for concrete floor coating apply projects in Burlington, VT

Epoxy flooring is a two-part coating made from synthetic resins and a hardener that bonds to concrete to create a continuous, durable surface. Once cured, the coating resists impacts, moisture, and most household chemicals, making it a practical choice for garages, basements, and workshops. It also creates a uniform, easy-to-clean finish that looks more polished than bare concrete without requiring ongoing waxes or sealers.

With proper care and maintenance, solvent-based and solid residential epoxy flooring can last 10 to 20 years, while water-based epoxy flooring lasts three to five years. Water-based epoxy is less durable, making it more susceptible to regular wear and tear. Commercial epoxy concrete flooring that experiences heavy foot traffic may only last two to three years.

Maintaining epoxy garage floors is relatively easy. You can sweep up dirt and debris with a broom, dustpan, or vacuum cleaner, then use a mild cleaning solution intended for epoxy floors to scrub away stains. Avoid using soap-based or chemical cleaners. Mopping an epoxy garage floor regularly with warm water can do the trick.
