"We selected American Kitchen Concepts after checking out several other companies. Dan, owner of the company, is also the designer. At other companies we felt that salesman / designer was just going through the motions and cranked out a cookie cutter, unimaginative design. Dan spends time to learn what you want and developed a design that was far superior and more aesthetically pleasing to those from other companies. After we signed the contract, we had second thoughts about our backsplash tile choice and decided not to extend the new flooring into our family room. Dan was very reasonable with his change order. Once the work started, their tradesmen were on site every weekday from demo to a new, functional kitchen. Dan and his installation team do a very good job of keeping the project moving. It would have finished on time, but the cabinet manufacturer shipped one cabinet 3” narrower than Dan ordered. Dan worked with the manufacturer to have the replacement cabinet expedited and it is due to arrive about a week after the other work was completed. The tradesmen are highly skilled and courteous. It was a comforting to have tradesmen in your house that you could trust. The final product is exactly as we had envisioned!"

After reading the good Angies List reviews, I decided to get a third quote from Dependable Carpet & Flooring. I spoke to Tom, the owner, who personally came out. Unlike the chain stores, Tom took time to review our needs and later emailed us a carefully designed, competitive quote without pressuring us. Showing a willingness to work with us, he gave us different options for replacing only the damaged carpeting or the whole basement. He beat the competitors' pricing, and even offered more choices in terms of carpet and padding. We decided to do the whole basement, and we're glad we did. The installers came out and did a great job, and were friendly to my kids while still working efficiently, getting the job done in one day. The new carpet looks and feels fantastic. "The first time we hired Eduards Wood Floors to install our new hardwood floor for the kitchen, breakfast nook, and family room was in 2009. We were very happy of the results. After 7 years later, we decided to replace a carpet study and stairs case with hardwood floor, and then removed old hardwood in living room and dining room to match with the rest of the house. The contractors were very nice and friendly even though they were not the same crew that we had before. To replace a carpet room with new hardwood floor was simple and easier than removing existing wood floor that we have. From watching them removing the old wood floor, it took them exactly one day to remove all the planks one by one. There were noises banging on piece by piece, that loud sound chased our pets away and hidden under the bed entire time. However, once the old woods were completely removed, the floor was ready to install with new woods. With the diagonal-pattern cut that we chose many years ago, it required lot of cuts. Saw dusts were flying everywhere, luckily they had it setup outside the driveway for easy to clean. Lesson learned: Pay Attention at the contract, make sure all measurements are correct before you sign. After we paid the first payment and the work was done almost half way, we got a call from their office said that the contract was wrong. It means we have to pay more than original amount that we'd planned. The problem was the contractor gave the right measurements to the officer but it was entering wrong in the system; it was really short on the amount of hardwoods needed for installation. At that point when your house was a mess and the floors were bared, what would you do in this case, cancel this contract and looking for other contractors? We were upset and ready to find other company to finish the job because it was over our budget. Then with negotiations, we decided to stay with Eduards Wood Floors to have them finish their job. Finally, after 3 weeks, we had our house back with beautiful wood floors. We have to give Flavio and Juan from Eduards Wood Floors some credits. They always collected, cleaned, and disposed all the trashes at the end of a day. They even vacuumed our floors every day before they headed out. They willing to fix any problems we found and correct it. They were cheerful and courteous. We have no doubt to use them again or refer them to our friends."
