He was able to correct the problem within an hour timeframe and was able to show me on his scope the inside of the sewer line. "Grumpy's Drains was the only company who could get us on their schedule within a week. A half hour before our appointment time, Keith called to let me know he was on his way and then showed up exactly on time. My husband had tried to snake the drains multiple times with no success. Keith was able to clean the clog out of the tub in less than 10 minutes (water balloon and hair clog). He then went to work on the pedestal sink. That was a much more difficult clog while working in a tight space. Keith was cheerful, funny and kind the entire time. The first clog cost a flat $178 and the additional drain was $88. It was money well spent and I would absolutely call on this company again in the future."

"The crew who came to the house included: Chris, Josh, Christian and Jeff. They were all very professional and they explained very clearly what work needed to be done and where they would need to cut into walls and ceilings. We have a 3 bathroom house with a full finished basement. The crew attempted to make easy cuts for me to repair. The house was as clean as can be expected after two days of work. The job was done completely and thoroughly. We had an issued with the shut off valve and they returned the next day to fix our issue and Josh came out he was professional and friendly. "We called in the morning, and the repairman was there in the afternoon.  He had supplies in his truck to replace our old garbage disposal.  We price checked the item on the internet and the price we were quoted had just a small markup.  Our repairman advised us about a defunct filtering system that we did not even know we had.  He did not try to sell us another, rather he said we probably did not need it on a municipal water system.  We did not feel any high pressure from this guy.  He capped off that system for us.  Unfortunately, in doing so, more pressure was put on the Instant Heat water machine and it developed a leak overnight.  The repairman got us a new model, worked with the owner to have no service charge  and installed a new, better unit the next day.  We were very impressed with the professionalism of the repairman and the owner.

First I want to say that the prior owner of this home did not put in adequate drain field for the size of this home or properly account for how many people would be living in this home.  This is no fault of speedy septic & I do not hold them responsible for prior home owner errors.

 

That being said Speedy Septic did diagnose problem and installed a new drain field that was supposed to accommodate the size of the home and the people living in it.  It didn't work.

 

Speedy suggested we decommission the current sand filter & replace it with a commercial grade filter.  Again this did not work.

 

Our home has the capacity of over 3000 gallons of septic waste with tanks installed by speedy.  Currently these tanks have been converted with the city of Portland's approval and with necessary and required permits to a holding pond situation.  We currently have an approved plan by the city to connect out home with the sewer.  Design took eight months to complete and an additional 2-3 months while speedy sent or took bids for work to be completed.  Speedy claimed that delay was the fault of the city, claiming that design had to be submitted and resubmitted multiple times.  Speedy provided no documentation of delay and very little communication with us.   Whenever WE contacted speedy we were told "it's almost done" or city this or city that.  Final estimate is upwards of $68000. We have not determined what course of action we are going to take.

 

As my wife and I run an adult care foster home from this location our options are somewhat limited. Issue will ultimately be resolved. What form resolution will take remains to be seen.

I must say I have looked on other websites and was very surprised at the rating speedy was given.

 

This issue has been one of incredible frustration & I posted this review in a period of venting.

While venting I did not fully take into account the cities role in this problem. Currently policy is for homeowners to exhaust all other options before they will consider homeowners to connect with city sewer.  This policy is the policy of the city not speedy septic.

 

I have been in contact with Speedy & I am very impressed with their willingness to resole this issue after reading my posting and review.  In addition I am more than happy to adjust my rating & review and look forward to working with Speedy to completely resolve this issue.

"It has been very satisfactory. They are very professional and their work is excellent. They are very responsive and come right away if there is anything wrong. We haven’t had them for anything major, but mainly for keeping our heating and cooling in working order. They sometimes come out and check the filters and things like that and they are just very helpful."
