Small jobs welcome

"Wow! After a few "no-show" plumbers, I found a gem amidst the storm - literally! My sewer ejection pump stopped working and Ramiro was my hero! We were able to coordinate over the phone with me describing my situation and sending a few pictures. Ruben showed up this morning and was probably one of the nicest, kindest, more competent people I have had work on my house ever. He was able to restore my pump to working order and replace the parts needed. Ruben was very communicative and precise in his diagnosis and repair. He left after a few hours with my pump back up and running - the pump was cleaned out and the alarm float replaced. I am so relieved and more importantly, happy to know whom to call if one of my 4 pumps is in need of some TLC at any time. You would be lucky if you needed help with your pumps to have Quality Pump Service be able to help you!"

"I contacted Javier Sandoval of Plumbing Services A+ through Angie's list concerning a leaking toilet. Javier quickly located the problem and recommended replacing the aging toilet with a water saving model. I also decided to replace another older toilet in the house. Javier replaced both in just a few hours and completed the job in a professional and efficient manner. Thank you Mr. Sandoval for a beautiful and well done job. I would not hesitate to contact this establishment again for any future plumbing needs. I am impressed with his knowledge and courteous manner. Gary Wininger"

"when tech showed up the dryer seemed to be working and heating however it did not when I called, seemed the heating element was cracked creating and off and on working condition. I went ahead to repair the problem by purchasing a new heating element. I was surprised however that the tech expected me to pay in full before he ordered the part and repaired the problem, but I did using my credit card knowing if there was a issue the credit card co. would have my back, The part was order and Alex fixed it as soon as it came in and was great"

"We found JMB Plumbing & Construction to be OUTSTANDING! They do it all—plumbing, carpentry, electrical, flooring, painting, HVAC repair or replacement, full kitchen or bathroom remodels, miscellaneous repairs, and more—for a fair price. We have and do STRONGLY recommend them to our FRENDS and now to YOU. John Barrera, his team of men and his subcontractors are capable of doing any type of plumbing or construction work necessary to repair or improve one’s home. John and all his people were professional and courteous while doing their work. They started promptly on the days and at the times agreed to in advance. The quality of their work was excellent with great attention to detail—we watched carefully! All of these attributes and qualities are provided at a fair price, based on our post-completion time-and-materials analyses of the three rounds of work they did for us. We look forward to working with John and his team to maintain and further improve our home as the need arises."

"Called as I was referred that they outsource for well/pump repair. Sounded strange as this is a vaccum repair company, but the company who referred was reputable. Company came out to look at well. Gave huge estimate to fix "problems" I didn't even ask them to look at. Said I would need a lot of work done on the well before they could even diagnose the issue. I called another company I had used in the past, they fixed the problem quickly, did not try to sell me all of these other services. I was out the door for just the part and labor - couple hundred bucks instead of the significantly higher amount I was going to get charged. Maybe they don't know much about variousl pumps/well's as they claim. Will never use them again. I felt they completely wasted my time."

"After purchasing our home, we needed to bring the private sewer lateral into EBMUD compliance. We called Toto's after a bad experience with a previous contractor for the same issue. Toto's determined from a camera check that the line should have been in good shape, so they would do their own test. They were pretty clear about the pricing: it would be a certain amount to do the test. If there were a problem, it would cost more to repair it, but they had a clear maximum cost. The pricing clarity was important to us. A previous contractor had quoted us $1,700, then raised the price to $5,000 to replace the line when they found a leak. Toto's maximum was less than that to replace the whole line. They did find a leak, but they were able to fix it for significantly less than the replacement cost. They did the work well, verified that it would pass the test when the EBMUD inspector came, and it did indeed pass. They were easy to work with the whole time: responsive by email, phone, and text. My only complaint, which is pretty minor, was they banged up some of our deck and forgot to replace a couple of the deck screws."

"LeapFrog did nothing wrong but this probably will be the last time we will use them.  We needed them to replace a kitchen faucet and the new one had a touch sensor (to turn it on/off).  Typically they charge by the job but this time they said they needed to charge by the hour.  Four hours later the faucet is in but to pay $750 to install a faucet felt like it went well beyond what is reasonable for such a job.  Was I paying for his not having a lot of experience doing this?    That's what it felt like in this case.   <br /> Hey, i'm a grown up, I agreed to pay hourly but after years of working with them I think there is a point after which the hourly guy says either "this is not what I do well" or "I'm turning the clock off" so that the cost doesn't get obscene.  That is if you want to come back again.  It's about doing what fair not just what is legal- especially since we have used them many times before.  <br /> It feels like this would not have happened a few years back but they have clearly grown and perhaps it's time to find another small company to work with us. <br />"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Byron, CA

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
