"Steve and the Upside crew did a great job helping us renovate our house. They replaced floors, painted and then cleaned it all up. Turned out excellent and the communication was great throughout. Will definitely be using them again for other projects."

Small jobs welcome

"Unfortunately, we can?t recommend Eggen Construction at all. We contacted Zack for LVP installation, and he later came to provide a quote. His communication and professionalism were good until the actual job began. He did not work consistently during the week we were scheduled. Some days, he only was here for 1.5 hours. His progress was painfully slow. We hired him for tile removal, but it was not done properly; the backer board and tile mortar was left there. The LVP was installed over an uneven surface, leading to a tripping hazard when you walked on the ?finished? product. We asked him to fix this, and he used some floor leveler (but forgot his level that day). This helped, but the floor was still noticeably uneven. We asked him to fix it again, and he did not. We had to cease our project with Eggen Construction at this time. He also never used any dust protection that professionals use. Pics are of the ?even? floor he left us with. Of course LVP was uneven on top of this. "

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Columbia, MO

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
