"I went with this company because of all the 5 star ratings. I wish I had the pleasure to experience a 5 star service. Unfortunately, I did not. I first have to say that overall the installation of my doors were good. However, in order for me to give 5 stars, the following has to ensue. Professionalism, Punctuality and attention to detail. The head installer Jacob, first arrived with a nasty disposition and when the project started, he had the audacity to have a full blown loud argument with his co-worker in my house, which made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. Secondly, they were to arrive between 8am & 9am, I get it if one is running late because of traffic or other unforeseen circumstance. They arrived after 9am and a courtesy call would of been nice. Once the project was done, there was no initial walk through with the head installer. Because I already felt a bit intimidated by the earlier ordeal between jacob and his co-worker, I did not ask Jacob for a walk though nor did he offer one. I took it upon myself to do a quick inspection. Everything at face value seemed to look ok. So the next morning once everything settled, I did a more thorough and lengthy inspection. I discovered issues that in hindsight I wish I could of addressed the day of the project. Please see attached photos for what I found. Although these issues I found are minor, I have to say that for almost $10,000, I expected a perfect job to be performed from start to finish. The pictures below are a result of someone not paying attention to detail."

"I called for service late this morning and the job was done before 4PM. One of my garage door cables broke on Christmas Eve. I called late this morning and within an hour Ken had called me back to make arrangements to come and see what I needed. He got here on time and proceeded to inspect my situation. I asked about my over 27 year old doors and openers and he said they were fine and recommended that I did not need new doors or openers. After testing and inspection he replaced all four springs, pulleys, cables and roller wheels. (I know I needed new springs and rollers as they were obviously worn and I had already replaced my springs about 10 years ago after two had snapped causing some damage to my walls when they did.) He then tested and adjusted the doors until they operated like new. He used upgraded rollers so I don't have to lubricate them. Both doors operate better and are quieter than before the cable broke. I think they are operating as good if not better than when they were new. He also noticed one of my hinges was oxidized and replaced that too before it broke. He gave me an extra hinge in case any ever break as that can seriously damage the door. Ken is very personable, professional, and knowledgeable. He worked very quickly and efficiently and explained everything to me as he worked. My doors and openers are over 27 years old and I could have been easily convinced to get new openers and new doors. By being honest and forthright he saved me several thousand dollars on items I did not need. I couldn't be happier with the service and work he provided. I will definitely use him again if the need arises. I highly recommend him. A top notch service provider."

"We had Brian replace our entire roof, including ripping two layers. Brian is always very professional and knowledgeable and the quality of his work is excellent. The job was delayed due to weather and schedule run overs in jobs before ours, but Hope provided us with regular status updates so we knew when to expect them. We used Genovese in the past for repairs and were very happy with the roof replacement.

"We were pleased with the installation of our fire/security system. The workers explained what they were going to do and showed us how to use the alarm. When they were done the installation, they cleaned up. They also gave us a discount because we went through Angie's List."

"Overall it was not bad, but I did not have a good enough experience to be willing to use them again.  I had bought the installation deal for this faucet here on Angie's list.  The first time we scheduled an appointment his truck broke down and he forgot to call me to cancel.  I understand these things happen, but I waited 3 hours before finally calling him to find out he totally forgot about our appointment.  So communication wasn't that great.  On the phone he said that since he had cancelled on me without any heads up, if anything extra came up during the faucet replacement he'd take care of it for me.  When we rescheduled the appointment, he arrived on time and complained that the vanity was very tight and the countertop was challenging to access.  I guess it's not the biggest vanity in the world, but it certainly isn't unreasonably small.  I had also already disconnected the old faucet in advance, making his job even easier.  But he went on a few times about how tight of an access it was.  Then he told me it would be an additional $75 to replace the P trap.  I knew the P trap needed to be replaced, but when I reminded him about our phone call and how he said he'd take care of unforeseen issues for me as a favor for missing our first appointment, he said "that was before I had seen this vanity."  So in a nutshell, he claimed that to install my specific bathroom faucet would have been more money than the $125 angie's list deal because of a smaller vanity and that he was throwing me that extra charge for free and then charging the additional $75 for the replacement of the P-trap.  At the end of the day, the price wasn't that bad and the service quality is fine, but the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth and I'd rather try my luck with someone new next time I need plumbing work done.

"Overall experience and results were excellent. One garage window had rot on the upper sash which was unrepairable, so I had a new sash installed by Anderson Windows, which the contractor then painted. The crew was a pleasure to have work on our home. Our 27 year old home looks new again."

FAQs for doors (interior) installation and replacement projects in Camden, NJ

If your existing frame is in good shape, you can replace an interior door without changing the frame. This is a budget-friendly option because it saves on the cost of removing and installing a new frame. By choosing a slab door that fits your current frame, you'll save on labor and materials. Just make sure the new door matches the old one's dimensions for a smooth replacement.

Standard interior doors are 80 inches tall and range from 28 to 32 inches wide. Interior doors vary from 24 to 36 inches wide, depending on their purpose and the available space. Building codes require interior doors to be at least 80 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Knowing standard sizes helps you select a new door that fits properly in your existing opening.

It costs $600 to $2,000 or more to move an inside door. The total price depends on your location, the type of door, and materials needed to complete the project. Moving an interior door requires walling up the leftover space and opening up a new wall where you want the door to go instead. You’ll also want to plan for the expense of framing the new wall opening and adding trim.

Exterior door installation costs an average of $1,175, with a typical range of $525 to $1,800. The higher expense compared to the cost of interior doors comes from the need for exterior doors to be weather-proofed and they are often made of thicker, more durable materials. The associated exterior hardware must also be able to withstand harsh weather, so these cost more as well.

It costs between $300 to $2,500 to make a doorway wider on average. However, the wider you need the space to be, the more it will cost. Some homeowners choose to widen interior doorways to make the house more wheelchair accessible. In order to be wheelchair accessible, an interior door needs to be at least 32 to 36 inches wide. Also, some older homes just have narrow doorways due to the nature of how homes were built differently many decades ago.

It takes between two to five hours for a professional door installer to install an interior door, depending on complexity and materials. A pre-hung door typically takes around two hours, and larger doors like double French doors can take up to five hours. If you’re doing the project yourself, expect it to take a little longer than that, especially if you have little to no experience completing this type of project. Keep in mind that a pre-hung door can be installed about an hour or two faster than a slab door.
