"We reached out with a request for a project to be completed in a short time frame and the team was great! Frank reached out immediately and was able to meet with us in person and commence the project that same week. We now have a custom floating desk and custom shelving units, all great for our office space!"

"It was perfect. Rolf had to engineer a covering over an old shaky frame and he did an amazing job. He also talked us out of a more expensive automated awning because of it's location and purpose."

"We are very pleased  with the work done by Len Smith and his team from Seacliff Construction.  Everything was done professionally and competently, and the result is exactly what we wanted and looks beautiful.  The workers were punctual, friendly, courteous and fun to talk to, and responded to questions and observations promptly and professionally.  The work site was always kept very clean, and they took special care to make sure construction dust etc did not get into other parts of our home.  Len provided just the right amount of design advice; he listened carefully to the wants/desires we expressed, and made reasonable recommendations to help us get what we were looking for.  He let us know if any design decisions along the way had an effect on the original project budget estimate.  The project was complete ahead of schedule and within budget.  We will definitely contract with Seacliff again for any future home improvement projects.  I have already forwarded their contact info to several friends who have seen and admired our new kitchen.  Thanks, Len, Seth, Scott & Carlos!!! <br />"

"We just completed installing a motorized retractable awning from [*** Link removed ***] and are super pleased with the quality of the build, appearance and customer support.? This Italian-designed, engineered and manufactured awning is assembled and shipped from RetractableAwnings.com Florida plant, so if you need assistance with the install, you should contact a local handyman, carpenter or contractor.? Ours is a Palermo Plus, 16 ft. wide, with an 11 ft.-10 in. projection.? The Internet salesperson, Eric Scop, V.P., really worked with us to understand all the options and get fabric swatches.? We ultimately selected a combination Rain/Sun sensor and Vibration sensor to automatically retract the awning in case of heavy rain or excessive wind.? I spoke with Rocky, their installation expert, for advice on preparing the ledger board to attach the awning to our vinyl sided home, right below the soffit.? His advice was instrumental in making the install go so well.? Further, the awning arrived already programmed to the Soliris transmitter and the motor limit switches were also set.? It shipped in a fiberboard box (this one was about 17 ft long and 1 ft x 1 ft square, weighing over 200 lbs.), which was extremely tough.? The truck driver ignored the box orientation stickers and used a hand truck to move it from the center, rather than two hand trucks, one at each end, per the clear placarding on the box.? Despite this, it arrived in great shape, other than a couple minor paint scratches, which we will fix with touchup paint they are sending at no charge.? While the enclosed wall brackets were different from those described in the installation manual (an improved design), installing them was no problem. An extra bracket was included, which we also installed as this will be a large ?sail? on the side of the house and we want it to stay there. We extend our sincere thanks to the team at RetractableAwnings.com, and for those review sites that accept photographs, we include the following photo."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Carmel Valley, CA

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
