I bought a custom fit chimney cap myself for like $200 I think and then had emerald city retrofit and install it for $450."

"Too bad they only offer 5 stars-I would've rated them 10! We had a fireplace service out a couple of weeks back. The tech opened up the fireplace, banged around, and determined that we needed $2550.00 worth of work done on the unit. Jonathan was my second opinion for the job. He opened it up, looked around, and determined that it simply needed a good cleaning and some adjusting. He cleaned the unit and the exhaust, worked on it for roughly an hour, and had it working like new, for less than half the price the other company quoted us. It would have been very expensive to tear down and replace and Chris suggested several brick colors, dropped them over for us to consider, and drew some pictures of replacement chimney to match mid century house and neighborhood. He also reused old cap material on new chimney and was able to use material to repair rear brick chimney cap."

"Marlo was a real find. We had a serious leak on one of our single family family rental residences dating back to November. Initially, we had a so-called leak specialist for a $350 minimum fee who totally mis-diagnosed the location of the leak and blamed it on on a "debris dam" in one of the valleys. He said cleaning the roof would solve the problem. He didn't even enter the attic crawl space or put up a tarp. Turns out his "professional assessment" was on the wrong side of the roof. We cleaned the roof and and repaired the drywall. The roof began leaking again and the repaired drywall had to be repaired again; this time the damage was much larger. I called Marlo and he came out to the house the same day I called. He discovered the source of the leak and repaired it the next day. He had a sub do the drywall repair. Marlo provided extensive photo documentation of what was wrong and how he would repair it. They drywall repair was excellent; it was impossible to tell there was any damage. They treated for mold as well. What impressed me most was Marlo provided me a 10 year warranty to cover the roof repair AND any ensuing drywall repair. Marlo is very personable and energetic. He also did a minor skylight repair gratis. A real headache that had been plaguing me for months (unhappy tenants) was resolved in matter of days.
