"These guys were great, and the owner, Jo Estrada, a pleasure to work with. A crew of 5 spent 5 hours cleaning, inspecting, and replacing insulation and vapor shield in our crawl space. They took pictures of everything, before and after. THe crew was pleasant, and worked really hard.... couldn't believe how much stuff they removed from under there. The crawl space is tight, but they didn't complain (at least to us!). They gave us good recommendations for some repairs needed for the foundation. All for a most reasonable price, compared to other estimates. They deserve every star they can get!"

"Install was on time and as described. '1st Response' did the job I expected for the water heater install. Good customer service for scheduling. Note that the Angie's list price of $799 only covers the installation of 50 gallon gas AO Smith hot water tank. Assuming you also do installation of new brass fittings, new flex lines and new expansion tank (which you should probably all do with the new water heater) it will cost an ADDITIONAL approx $500-600 (mostly labor costs). That's a competitive price but still, you should be aware that the original quote is just for the water tank install itself, nothing else. All-in-all they did a good job for a competitive price. A few months after the install, so far, I can say I would recommend them for this type of work."

"Had Groundworks install a drainage system and sump pump in our home’s crawl space. Anthony and his crew, Jordon, Uriel, and James were Outstanding. It was a three day job. They were on time every day and worked their tails off each day. It was a muddy job in cramped quarters. They never complained. Anthony kept me updated on the progress they made each day. Anthony shared pictures of the job as it progressed. They cleaned up the job site each day. Anthony went over all the details at the completion of the job and answered all of my questions. The whole process was Great. From the initial inspection done by Kristy to the office staff and the installation. The communication was also Great. "We had a damp crawlspace. John's installed drainage with sump pumps (lead and backup with battery backup power) and encapsulated the dirt with 20 mil plastic. They also installed PU foam around the perimeter foundation walls to complete the insulation envelope of the house and a dehumidifier top keep the crawlspace area dry. In short, this work solved the problem we had and provided the added benefits of a more energy efficient and comfortable house due to the insulation as well as better indoor air quality. The work was done in four days and at considerably less cost than a competing contractor bid to do it. Another person that we had inspecting house later looked at the crawlspace and commented, "Wow! You could do brain surgery down here." We actually wouldn't recommend that though ;)"

"They may be good for business to business, medium to large new construction projects. High operating costs (and high margins?) means higher prices. I do not recommend for a homeowner with an existing single family residence. I needed to replace the galvanized pipe connecting my house to the street for an irrigation project. Between offering the highest bids (before an extra $10k option to install all copper), their nonsensical proposal for an invasive relocation of the line to service the water heater, and their proposal to use an excavator to tear up my yard and remove multiple shrubs and a tree just to replace my water line, I elected to use a different company. I appreciate the business like demeanor, their connections to government and utilities, and that they have the resources to pay for multi year apprenticeships"
