"My contractor was Deep Rooted Flooring and our contact was Christian. We were contacted by him and discussed replacing a floor around the commode in the bathroom. I asked him to view the project and give us an estimate. He was very quick with his estimate and made us aware of work that needed to be done in the adjacent room because of the deteriorated floor. He didn’t Pressure us or anything about the extra work, he just made us aware of the condition with a description and pictures. It was our decision to go ahead with The additional work. "I have hired Corky time and again to do work on my house. I keep going back to him because he does stellar work for a reasonable price. I have confidence in him. I trust him and at this point, don't even feel the need to get estimates because I know he will always be the most reasonably priced and I know that his attention to detail and his pride in his work is unmatched. I know that he will be honest with me and I know that he strives to understand what I want and makes suggestions to save money and he is creative. He hires excellent guys who are always respectful, polite and professional and who care just as much about the work they are doing as he does. <br /> The first time I hired Corky was in the summer of 2012. His guys redid all the floors in my house: wood in the main living areas and tile in the wet areas for about $8,000. Don did the wood and he did an excellent job. Don was always pleasant and responsive when I had a concern and he always left the work area clean when he finished for the day. When the work was finished, I was particularly impressed that Corky dropped by to check on everything. I thought it all looked good, but he came back to talk to me and said, "I'm not happy. Can I come back this afternoon to do a little touch-up work in the master bathroom?" Of course! I was really impressed that he didn't wait for me to complain. And his happiness ultimately meant mine as well. <br /> I hired Corky again this winter to do the cabinets in my kitchen for about $5,000. I wanted to save a little money and I didn't really like the idea of throwing the old cabinets in the landfill. We brainstormed and came up with the idea of rebuilding and raising the existing cabinets putting solid maple doors on the front and building a custom shelf underneath. His master carpenter, Paul, and I worked together on the design for the custom shelf based on one we had seen in a catalogue. Corky very easily could have ordered the shelf from the catalogue but he knew it wasn't exactly what I was looking for an he knew he could save me money by building it. The work they did was just amazing. I could not believe the transformation! And again, just as before, he was attentive to my every concern. If I didn't like something, he didn't ask questions, he never argued with me. His biggest concern has always been my satisfaction. <br /> Finally, I hired Corky about a month ago to do about $1,000 worth of miscellaneous repairs around my house. We were putting the house on the market and needed to get it in good shape. We had some windows that had wood rot and our real estate agent and several handymen told us we would simply have to replace the windows. Wouldn't you know, Corky was the one who said, "I can fix that!" And he fixed four windows for a fraction of the cost of brand new windows and it was done in a day. He also sealed a leaking chimney cap and replaced the damaged wood, repaired a screen door and our mailbox, he fixed three leaky faucets, repaired a gutter damaged in this winter's ice storm, replaced a few missing shingle tabs on the roof, hung some heavy mirrors, tightened two loose toilets, repaired some damaged wood on a column, and replaced four light fixtures and a ceiling fan. <br /> There is nothing he won't do and nothing he can't do. He is fantastic. Honestly, I'm sad I'll be moving out of state because I'll have to find a new contractor. And Corky is absolutely one in a million. <br />"
